 The Liger Zero EM was announced at Wonder Festival, as a kit to be released before the Storm Sworder and Sturm Tyrann. It now has a release date, but is a Kotobukiya Direct shop exclusive. This means that it won't appear at the normal outlets like AmiAmi, so you'll likely need to use a deputy service to order. What is a deputy service? They buy the item for you, then ship it to your country. We'll provide purchasing information in this post for those who want this kit in their collection. If I'm not mistaken, both notes are saying 'To Be Determined.' The first note being the price and the second the sales month. I'd be surprised if it meant end of the month sale when we're only just now hearing about it, but admittedly I don't know well enough to speculate.
What I'm hoping is that if X is released, that it's handled like the clear Zero and comes with a naked EM. You'd still need to get the Koto exclusive for that Zero armor, but at least could have a properly colored X. Otherwise, it is bothersome to decide whether you should pick up one or two from the Koto store. I'll go with one, since no HMM Zero CAS has been released without a base model yet.

I have 3 TOMY Liger Zero's already, and I need a 4th to display the Jaeger armor. I have always wanted the EM and X, but I have been holding out to see of Koto made an HMM of those variants, since I want some more variety in my collection.
Hearing that the EM is a shop exclusive is very sad and really dissapointing for me, but probably a smart move for Koto.

So the EM is the red version of the Liger Zero and the X is the blue CAS version? Still, there's hope! (heck, the X might even sell with the EM, and that would be a rockin' set!)

Aw, store exclusive? That's a shame. Guess I'll have to get my head around using proxy services, because even if they bring out an X, I'd want a regular EM to display alongside it.

Yeah LZ-EM is the only Liger I can bear, and it sucks that it's an exclusive. Was the Command Wolf EM also an exclusive, or general release? I always dig Republic Zoids in Empire (Guylos or Zenebas) colors.

We have a nice large image of the box side art for Liger Zero EM. This comes from the Kotobukiya Blog, where it's specified that while the release date and price are still undetermined, it is expected to arrive sooner than the Storm Sworder and Tyrann. There is also something else I don't quite understand; something about producing the sprues in multiple colors? Because the EM parts are more separated than Zero (Example: Shoulder Armor different from downforce stabilizer color.) Does this mean that the EM will come with both red sprues and gold sprues for all the white parts? Would it be possible to make a gold Liger Zero? Someone who's better at reading this stuff may be able to shine more light on it. |

I can only assume that'll be the way it worked on some gundam kits, where they inject two colors of plastic into the same mold from different ends, and they meet in the middle of the sprue
Interesting though since the different parts colors were decided by the sprues in the original kit
as for X never being in the anime, I agree. a tragedy. It would have made a fantastic rival for the main character

That would be nice (compared to the alternative of having a bunch of incorrect colors, like red stabilizers.) I am not sure how viable it is with EM though, where the miscolored parts are only one or two out of the entire sprue. I'll be interested to see how it's handled, at any rate. There seems to be some notice about it being different from the image, but I'm not sure in what way they mean. (I would not be surprised if the jaw was gold instead of black, etc.) Edit: DHM commented on it, and from their phrasing it seems clearer that the plastic will be cast in the proper colors. This is good news, since EM just wouldn't be the same otherwise. I've never personally built a kit like that so it'll be fun to see. |
