New update- This picture said it is motorize (and it is model?), however, it is still under developing, So that may end up cancel? or only a few different kind be made, then the line will be cancel?? (but 1 thing for sure, it is not related to TF Masterpiece series) PS. About video that rhas has found, maybe that prototype become the prototype for this Shield Liger now??

The video features a liger that's already been officially published in media design wise. It was a variation of the Shield Liger from the new TakaraTomy Zoids Universe. The 'Concept Art Book' liger, which was featured in the published books and games was the major design but the one from the video was also featured in Zoids SS Manga as another standard for the Federation Army.
I don't think the nw liger looks anything like it, personally. That being said, the mock up looked a lot cooler ... I will hold my breath until we see a colore version. Not liking the face design nearly as much now that it is clearer. This can, of course, be fully forgiven if they let its paws fold back.
EDIT: After poking at the image it looks like it says it has electronics, but not motorized specifically? Motorized would likely not interact well with highly-poseable parts, so I wonder if it will have lights and stuff?

Right now, we know this Shield Liger is- 1.) 1/72 scale, same as the normal Shield Liger. 2.) It is motorize. Now, I'm hopping- 1.) It is a model kit. 2.) Price is 4000 yen or less. (But I think it will be pricey ...) 3.) Will release the Blade Liger AB soon. (I hope it will be release before the line end...) For the "Prototype", I'm not talking about how much they looks like each other, more about the motorize function(walk, roar, etc). They just make one nice Zoids but never has a chance to release it, but this is very wasteful for just put it away and eating dust. Why not base on it, and make a new item that base on it? That's why I said the one in video became the "prototype" of this new Shield Liger. For the look, they just base on the old/existing parts, and make some new parts to replace the old parts, then there will have a brand new Zoids. (just like Saber Tiger and Shield Liger, or even better sample - Shield Liger to Blade Liger).

Translation time!
MASTERPIECE The ultimate Zoids activate.
The highest peak of high-end model series, which Takara Tomy is presenting to all Zoids fans. 1/72-scale electric Zoids including newly-interpreted designs and carefully thought-out "movements overflowing with a sense of life".
MPZ-01 Shield Liger The blue lion makes its advent.
(Under earnest development, details to be updated as occasion calls.)
...I'm really hoping this is based on the electronic Liger, because that thing was amazing.

So, it's a static display the runs when you click a button, or it's a fully animatronic kit... or something in between. I've seen the video, and, as cool as the Liger looks, it would kind of suck just to buy a pretty lion to set on the shelf and watch it run in place for a while.

I think that liger is intended for full action on the floor running around. The feet splay outwards as it speeds up, and it looks like an attempt to balance itself, which is why I think it's meant for, or working towards floor functionality.

I'm still not sure what to think. If it is indeed a model kit cool! If not? I dunno. I shall eagerly await more information regardless.

The translated image posted above came from that page originally, so I think it was cleared up then. I'm also still undecided. I think there's a lot of cool stuff going on here, like the detail in the underlying structure and the seam lines in the head that look like a more involved build. On the other hand I miss the sweeping back mane of the standard shield liger. Without it the neck seems nonexistent, but that could just be the angle.
It almost looks like it is posable with the way the paw is moved. It would be interesting if they found a way to combine motorization with the vague poseability many people enjoy.

So... will this Masterpiece kit be a one of a kind, or will it be the first of a series? And, by series, I don't mean a pair, or a trio... I mean the first of at least 10 (hopefully 242) kits. *edit* Is this significant? TAG Hobby

Ooh, nice new angles there. Seems like you can adjust the mane like Zero X's and the behind-the-shoulder bits like Blade Liger's? Are those little spikes running down the tail?

Certainly appears that way... or an attempt to make it appear more segmented and vertebraec.

Seeing that the mane actually swoops back a bit still, helps a lot. With it being poseable I'm having serious doubts about it being motorized. Maybe it just has electronic lights and stuff? Another new angle from twitter.

The ultimate 1/72-scale kits are born, combining newly-interpreted designs and the latest electronic actions! The first release is the lion-type Zoid Shield Liger!! It produces realness overflowing with a sense of life through electronic actions, such as animal-like footwork, breathing motions and head shaking. It also contains lights in its cockpit and heart area, and sound gimmicks such as an activation sound, footsteps, roaring, a heartbeat and machine noises. It comes with a display stand that suspends its body, so you can also display it while it's moving. The rubber caps on each part have been changed into durable lock-style caps, so you can enjoy assembling and disassembling it with the designated tools." Okay, as long as this comes out more like the prototype video and less like the Cyber Drive models, it will be FANTASTIC. My poor, poor wallet...
