the clicking isn't a misassembly: turn it on while you have all the parts off and you can see the source: there's a pair of face gears that move... ...I forget what, but the clicking happens because the 'breathing' cycle has those gears reverse direction, intentionally having them slip (because the angles of the teeth allow them to slip in one direction and grip in the other), and one of the pair has a spring pushing it against the other.

I would love it if someone could do a detailed review on this kit. I've seen a lot of pics post assembly (with and without armor) but am ver curious about people's take on the build and the details that can only be discovered when the pieces are in your hands.

Making a purchase soon...what is the difference between the regular and Chrome plated version? Are the chrome claws even worth the extra $10? Also how much space does it take up? Worthwhile purchase??

Hello, I know long time no see but Leon35 the rubber on mine has already deteriorated so the tail just fell off when I picked it up from my shelf the other day So far no other deterioration and great fun build with decent quality hard plastic.

The chrome is just the teeth. It's up to you if it is worth it. If you can find it for $10 more, maybe if you like chrome. If you have to go through an import service to get it, you can probably expect it to be ... a lot more. Unless you have a lucky find.

Hey ironman117No!!! Is the tail the only rubber bit? Anyone else having problems? The chrome is just the teeth. It's up to you if it is worth it. If you can find it for $10 more, maybe if you like chrome. If you have to go through an import service to get it, you can probably expect it to be ... a lot more. Unless you have a lucky find. I just finished building the Chrome Genosaurer, and as pretty as it is, if I never have to work with Chrome ever again, it will be too soon. It was the worst building experience of my life; the quality of the plastic was horrible. I also own the chrome D-Style Ligers and while the plastic was fine, the chrome was flakey and constantly peeled off. If I do get one, I will definetly get the regular model. Thanks.

the entire tail isn't soft material, only the joints between segments, for what it's worth.

Leon35 it is only the rubber parts, everything else seems like good quality. I just glued the plastic segments together so the tail is stiff now, but it holds just fine. I might pop it apart again later and put my own joints in, just don't have time yet~

I was expecting much more "hate" in this thread? Seeming as no-one has a normal working MP Shield Liger.. I recently built mine (as I did not want to, reading all the issues...) AND of course I also have the same roar crap.. It kind of works (kind of as in sometimes) IF I remove the gun armor.. And even then it still doesn't always. It's simply because of the walking cycle, not ending in the same position, so the leg is in a different position most of the times. If the left front leg is straight it works, but if it's more to the front it will get caught on that (yes like with everybody, even with the manes open..)
And even if you would switch it off at the right moment, the next time it begins the cycle from the top and so it will get caught again.. The gun armor just makes it.. well.. even worse..
Anybody ever find a good solution (other than considering throwing it against the wall, proverbially speaking)? Building it was fun, it looks nice, but seeing it "walk" takes out all the fun..

I haven’t built my liger yet but I’ll let you know somthing Thanks empirewolf13, I followed all the instructions carefully and took heed in all the previous mentioned things like the manes etc, but it's just bad engineering sadly.. The head was not built to be going into the roar motion because it will snag the gun armor or legs.. Most people found that it runs fine without any armor, mine works kind of without the gun armor, but even then it has issues mostly with the left front leg..

Okay finally built mine, the last page of instructions isn’t showing what all the moving pieces on the head do, it’s telling you to fold the side mane fluff out and the other parts down before walking, if you do that the cycle runs with no issue

Yeah that is if you're lucky.. I did the whole mane and stufing down thing way back when. It's not just that that makes most of the MP Shield Ligers malfuction the way they do.. They just did not think all of it through as good as intended..
