I can't tell from the pics you posted, but your Heldi looks to have a smaller gap than mine.
Also, those hoses can suck.

Yeah I had to do a lot of painting light grey trim to make it look like in the anime, it fixes up the monochrome-ness a lot.. and the eyes inside the dome are supposed to look like eyes, so I painted the connecting piece so it'd blend in with the rest of the cockpit and you'd just see eyes and not a connecting piece... and yes that gap drove me nuts!!!

Heldi is a weird creature. The overall look is great, the big canopy with is very disctinctive, making it the perfect little bro for Deadborder. I guess being a Dark Zoid is one reason why it is so monochromatic. Perfect if you're just black, but a bit of a handicap for the NJR colour scheme. Still, the giant red canopy more than makes up for this. Was it the first NJR Release to not have an orange canopy ? I've always been a sucker for big canopies, like the alternate Godos head, Ultrasuarus and Jet Falcon.

I have something of a treat for everyone today, not a review of one zoid, but four! Flyscissors, Diploguns, Shellkarn, and Demon's Head of the Z Builders line, all of which I snagged for a mere $9.99 combined! They were up on Ebay, I put the minimum bid on it which was 9.99, and then forgot about it, thinking that I would be outbid rather quickly. Days passed, and when I got back on ebay, I discovered that I had gotten lucky and won it! I love it when that happens, you put a minimum bid up thinking "eh, if I win, sweet, if not, its not big deal" and you end up winning. Of course, we all know what these four zoids together are capable of.... ...which is combining into Chimera Dragon! Now personally, I always preferred the Matrix Dragon. My first exposure to both was the Gamecube game Zoids: Battle Legends (actually my first exposure to a lot of zoids, man that game was sweet). Matrix Dragon had a cooler appeareance in the anime as well, although Chimera Dragon wasn't a slouch by any means. If I remember correctly, he was portrayed as an unstoppable crazy zoid that had to be shut down before it killed everybody. it's been a while though. Of course, the proper look for Chimera Dragon is the colors of Demon's Head, red and black. Alas, Ebay and I could not reach a deal, as I was not dropping forty dollars on that thing....Still, while I thought this color scheme would be pretty bad, it does have a sort of appeal. I think it would look cool next to a proper Chimera, which I hope to get one day. Building this guy was little frustrating, because, as a Z Builder, parts love to fall off. Kind of a problem with the whole line. As a result, I don't pick him up very often. Still, this is a cool zoid, and one of the better representations of the Fuzors/Z Builders line.

Ah, the Chimera Blox. These guys are ugly as sin on there own, but make for a cohesive fused mode. This is the exclusion to the rule that combined Blox zoids have comically tiny heads, but that's only because Demonshead is nothing but a giant zoid head.

Indeed, they almost might as well have made some 'head zoids' for the purpose of awesome customs

Truth be told, Chimera Dragon is my only Fuzor zoid, so I didn't know small heads were a problem of the line. I've been trying to get the necessary zoids to make G2 Rex and Groundrago, but as a completionist, I like to have both the fuzor and its component zoids, so basically Ineed two of everything. And that takes money.

G2 Rex should still be easy to find as a box set, and the uniform colorscheme helps him out tremendously. I love the Neoblox, but the timing was never right for me to get those two sets.

Love Flyscissors and Diploguns, hate the other two and the fuzed form. I did pick up the Fuzors Matrix Dragon just to get the unified colour scheme, and all the component Zoids actually look pretty good in blue too.
I picked up G2 Rex and Groundrago in the sales, as Neoblox were not my favorites. Drago looks good, if somewhat floppy but G2 Rex is the ONLY Zoid I have ever left half built. Having the same sprues in different colours just did my head in. I should pull him out of the attic and complete him.

But...but...how can you hate Demonshead? ...okay, on second thought, that IS kinda creepy. I like it and Flyscissors okay on their own (and Diploguns is cool pink), but I think they're definitely better stuck together. (Says the person with no actual Chimera Dragon, only the action figure.)

Today I have a rare treat for you all, another limited edition zoid that I was able to get my hands on from the same man who sold me the beautiful Iron Kong Yeti.... Gojulas Mariner! Gojulas Mariner is simply a stunning zoid. Gojulas has had a lot of different colors in his lifetime, but in all honesty I've gotta say the Mariner is his best look. This happened to actually be my first Gojulas (I have two now) and so I was honestly surprised at how huge he came out to be. I had always avoided springing for a Gojulas because he is one of those zoids with huge inflated prices, and I couldn't justify spending so much on one zoid, no matter how big he was. The Mariner is even more expensive than a regular Gojulas, as a limited, so I really feel extremely lucky to have him in my collection, and I own a huge debt of gratitude to Ardius. The orange cockpit is a nice touch, goes very well with the light blue color. Gojulas killing a Redler because, well, he could. Just snapped him right out of the air. I really like that final shot of him. Overall, this is simply one of the best zoids out there. Unless the price is insane, get it if you see it.

Hey, someone else who likes Mariner's colors. They're very unusual, but somehow oddly appealing to me, between the blues and copper.
I...I have a 36-tin case of Penguin mints >_>;. I shoulda taken a picture with a Zoid before I broke it up.
