That is one sweet munkee. I'm glad at least one of Ardius' Zoids found a loving home. I was only allowed to buy his spare junk.
The muted, white colour scheme is awesome and really sets it apart from just about every other Zoid. Green Horn is the only other drab, militaristic Zoid that comes to mind. I prefer the right shoulder weapons of either Gore or PK over the standard/Yeti missile launcher. But overall, its impossible to say which of the three is the best looking Kong. I'd be happy to see any of those three getting HMM'ed.

Yep, so did Cannon Fort... not Rainbow Jerk, however. I really like the military color scheme on military machines, you know? Imagine if the US Army painted it's gunship helicopters bright red and silver... or if France painted its main battle tanks teal and purple? Ugh....

Reverse those and that sounds like a good idea! It's not as if either one is trying to be stealthy

Hell yeah, teal and purple tanks.
Dark Spiner's electronic warfare, not stealth. It doesn't matter if you can see it when it's jamming your systems and you can't move...and you could almost count it as a WARNING, DON'T TOUCH color scheme. Nature does it ;p.

The anime portrayed Schwartz knowing how to handle his Kong...but yeah, pretty much every OTHER character in all the series was complete fail with their big bad gorilla Zoids I really do think this is one of the nicest variants of Kong, color scheme wise. And, for extra points, it's seems to be one of the few reasonably priced YK editions.

Nature doesn't use laser guided missiles or APEX rounds, either... and electronic warfare systems are only effective when they are enabled... .1% of the Zoid's exposure time on the battlefield. After all, how many times has a modern military forced killed an electronic or armored military system while it was "asleep?" That's generally the preferred time to strike it. The point of camouflage is to defeat at least one form of detection in order to actually USE a weapon.... the human eye.... "Specter four-niner, we are seeking confirmation of target Spiner echo-Zulu zero-six-zero." "Roger than, Nest. I have visual confirmation; Spiner zero-six-zero; the huge teal thing hunkered down in the dark green canopy." "That's your target, Specter; light 'em and bite 'em."

Considering zoids exclusively use electronic imaging systems for the pilot's view, Ithink Dark Spiner is a lot more of a threat in zoid warfare than he would be against current military equipment. Spiner's also got his Static Shield and Static Discharge cannon, so stealth seems unrequired for him.

True... again... if the power's on and the system is active. An energy shield and an energy cannon both imply an active, not a passive, system. If your pilot is asleep or not on a mission, your a big teal and purple target! I know... in the end, it's a TOY LINE! And it's a toy line about giant robotic dinosaurs stomping all around and locking teeth with giant robotic cats (and sometimes other giant robotic animals get in the way), but I still like to have a sip of realism with my main course of sci-fantasy.

Now that is a good point, there are a lot of aerial zoids, and while it's probably implausible to avoid ground damage through camouflage, it WOULD do you well to not be a huge target to bombers.. I'm not sure if ground-colored paint would suffice though, you might need to store your zoids inside those huge boxes we see gustavs pulling, so at least the enemy can't distinguish your zoids from your ammo caches, and selectively pick them off

And mecha franchises tilted too far into real robot bore me (once literally to the point of falling asleep), so there we are :p.
Unless it's more realistic robots that aren't the focus of the story, Macross-style. Though the fact my favorites are 7 and Frontier probably says something.
(edit) I appear to be overcompensating a bit, here. Sorry for all the cranky, I get overzealous defending my escapist super robot loves sometimes and shouldn't post when cross.

Not a problem at all, Tilly. Personally, I just find real tech incredibly fascinating. I read once that the problem with science fiction is that it is based on a world that we know so much about, and that can dampen our enthusiasm for it. Kinda like watching a really old Star Trek or other show where we know so much more about tech now that the premise of the show seems absurd. Yeah, I'm the guy who played Battletech (you know, the board game, not the video game?) and had to close my mouth every time I wanted to use an autocannon. After all, in that game an AC-5 had a range of 18 hexes and an AC-20 (4 times as powerful) had a range of 9 hexes. That translating into real life would mean a 9mm pistol would be able to shoot the moon, but the 18" guns on the Yamato would have to drop a shell onto an enemy under the barrel!

That might be part game balance? I don't know the world, but some Zoids stuff I've poked at sometimes has to nerf things in weird ways for the same of keeping Zoids more balanced across a lot of power creep throughout continuity.
Though the mental image of a battleship having to cuddle things and then gently drop shells on them is pretty funny.

Today I have a zoid that I'm sure has caused a lot of frustration around here, and among zoiders worldwide. The NJR Heldigunner! Heldigunner, for his size, is a difficult build. And by difficult, I mean in the way of "why won't this part connect to this part?!" So don't be thrown off his size-although he is pretty long for a zoid with that tail of his. Heldi was one of my favorite zoids to sticker, because he just looks so good when he's all stickered up. I can't say I'm a fan of the dull color though, I wish I had an OJR dark Heldi. Grey and red doesn't really cut it, but again, the stickers really make it come together so in the end Heldi isn't too bad. Heldigunner is a cool zoid. Though I'd say grab an OJR if yo uhave the chance before the NJR, although the NJR is more easily obtainable. Heldigunner has had brief appearances in the anime if I recall correctly, but no appearances of any real significance. Beware the hoses!
