Today I have an old zoid for you all to check out.... Garius! Now Garius is one of the oldest zoids out there, but that doesn't mean he's got a price tag to match that. You can find him for surprisingly cheap, even on Ebay, and as a classic zoid, there is no excuse not to have him! Good luck on getting one that has a still working motor, however. Mine works, for now, but half the other white head zoids I have aren't walking anywhere anytime soon. Now here is Garius with his distant relative. Unfortunately, I do not have an Iguan to round out the family, but as you can see, there are many similarities between the two. My take on Garius, as is with all other white head zoids, is that they are awesome and you need to stop reading this right now and start picking them up. White heads have classic designs, the elusive gold pilots, and just look great when displayed.

Hmmmm. Garius is an odd beast. As a kid, I didn't start collecting Zoids til the red Zoids came out, my first being Slither aka Molga. I eventually picked one up as part of the Whitehead memorial set, but I'm not sure I'll ever get round to opening them, unless I win the lottery and buy a house with a dedicated Zoids display room. As a model, he looks ok if somewhat skeletal and in terms of movement, its pretty basic. With limited building time and display space, I'd much rather have one of the more modern Zoids, such as Leena's HMM Gun Sniper or a Raven Raptor.
But he is the grand daddy of everything that followed. Though Zoids may not be a popular now as they were a few years ago, to be still going after 25 years is no mean feat. From Garius, we eventually got monsters such as Gil Vader, King Gojulas and Mad Thunder. And he's the direct ancestor of Zillon, possibly the coolest Zoid ever created. Kinda like a classic car, it may not be the fastest or flashiest, but it will always be a worthy part of any collection.

Hey all, it pains me to say this, but I will be unable to continue reviewing until January. The reason being is that I have military obligations that I must fufill for the next few months. I don't want to tell my life story, so I'll just leave it at that. I should be out by Christmas so look for some new reviews come January! I promise I'll be back! Until then, keep these forums alive!

Hey Oath. Sorry to hear you won't be around for a little while, your reviews have been a real shot in the arm on the forum. Whatever you're up to, I hope it all goes well.
Stay safe and come back soon.

Take care out there... wherever there is, Oath. See you when you return! On Garius; the first Zoid I collected definitely has a huge nostalgia bonus for me. If you made an evolution chart you could start it with Garius, progress to Godos, then to RC Godos, then Tiga. Now that there is an HMM, we may even see someone do a Tiga HMM custom. I would still love to see Garius and the whole Memorial Set as HMM releases.

Indeed!
It would be interesting to see the evolutionary take on Zoids in a series of charts that actually differentiated regions. For instance, one chart would follow this T-Rex progression for all Helic designs, but Zenebas, being in a different region of Zi, would almost be in reverse, going from Deathsaurer to Geno Saurer, Breaker, and Fuhrer, with others in between. A different history would have to be created for Nyx, as Deadborder has no known relatives (it would be cool to see 5 or 6 models that lead up to him!)

Hey everybody! I apologize for coming back exactly a year after I said I would-again, I'll spare you the life story and just say it's been a wild ride. I am going to try and post a new review up in the next few days and keep the party going!

I'm sorry for the delay everyone, I have a perfectly legitimate excuse: the Ravens won the Superbowl, and there was much rejoicing. But anyways, thanks for your patience, and the first review in over a year starts....now!!! The model up for review today I actually just received in this past week from a fellow zoider who had set up a thread on the trading post. I really have to give a shout out to everyone there, because i have found some really rare zoids that I never dreamed I'd be able to afford for very reasonable prices there. I've had some really positive experiences there and my collection is now larger than I'd ever thought it would be when I first started collecting. Of course, that brings a new set of challenges, such as space in the house...but that is for another day. Today is time for....Geno Breaker! Here he is with the flash on. I've gotta say, he ended up being a little larger than I thought, comparison wise, he's bigger than Fury by a good bit. Anyways, Geno Breaker is one of those semi-Ultimate death dealing machines, and it is pretty cool building him. Those scissors are actually quite fearsome, and are easily large enough to snap a smaller zoid like Helcat in half. And maybe it's because I've been out of building zoids for a good year, but I found Breaker to be quite the challenge. There's a lot of small parts, and there are times when it seems like the instructions expect you to have four arms to be able to hold a bunch of loose pieces together at once. Here's a side profile, and I'll admit I've never cared too much for any of the Geno/Fury zoids before I built this guy. Of course, I'd never owned any of them up until this point either. The point is, Geno Breaker is one of the coolest zoids out there. He's a beautiful and threatening red color, and dominates the room where he is displayed. His build took over two hours for me, with trimming of course, but the time and effort is well worth it. I'm extremely fortunate I found him for a decent price, because this was one of those zoids I'd always seen for close to $100 on ebay and similar sites. Don't get me wrong, I love zoids, but I love being able to eat and fill my car up with gas as well. $100 is a little steep if I'm not getting a King Gojulas or a lot of zoids. Sp there you have it! Geno Breaker ladies and gentlemen. IF you find one at a decent price, don't hesitate to snap it up. He's well worth it, the build is challenging and enjoyable, and he will be one of your prize models when completed. I'll try and update this thread semi-regularly in the future. There is one other model I have already taken pictures of and built, and is ready to go for a review, but I'll keep those at the low ready for now for maybe a week or so. Thoughts? !

I have always had a fondness for GB and it's one of my favorite kits. I am also privileged to own Geno Breaker Jet, which is my favorite version of Geno Saurer by far. I've always liked that the Geno Breaker stands apart from Berserk Fuhrer in that it has an arsenal of conventional weapons on top of its melee weapons. Great looking kit.
