Brastle Tiger (...) has a 'wild blast' You say that as if it's a good thing. ;-) I keed, I keed. I'm really glad they reissued the Brastle Tiger in the Genesis line or chances are I would've never heard of it. I think I said this in the video too, but at the tail end of the NJR I kinda wasn't paying attention, particularly not to the umpteenth KittyZoid, and the Brastle Tiger certainly does deserve a bit of love and attention. Not really sure how to take that.... I just wanted to mention the kit. PITA as it is it is well, an advncement over the 30yo saber fang. perhaps that is not well taken here... |

You didn't sound too jazzed about it in your review, but I do think the purple helps bring out a lot of design details that the original doesn't. I wonder if anyone's tried putting the sped up Wild Liger motor in one of these like you speculated about...
One thing I will say though is a definite win over the red version-- that box art is awesome! Thanks for another thorough review. Still waiting on backordered Zoids myself here.

The part swap would look pretty cool; all black/gunmetal with gray features might look pretty stealthy, but the other one would end up purple/red/yellow and be a serious eyesore!

I'm also still waiting for the damn Ankyrocks, so... Just got an email from HLJ saying the Catalga I preordered and never got is now discontinued and not expected to return. So that's annoying. Hope your Ankyrocks order gets filled at least. |

Hope your Ankyrocks order gets filled at least. Nope. Just got the same e-mail for the Ankyrocks. They must have just done a round of cancellations for ZW orders they couldn't fill. I'm gonna see if I can get one from Amiami now. |

It still surprises me that these kits don't include actual arms. I mean, they aren't even T-Rex scaled with the rest of the kit... just some fingers hanging off of the chest.

Well, there are visible arms molded onto those torso pieces and I guess you could argue that if they're not going to move, they might as well be one part, but yeah, it does seem like the weirdest possible corner to cut. Meanwhile that claw on the foot is a separate part.

That is definitely a weird way to separate parts. I'm sure there's reasons and discussion on how best to parse things out, but just from putting them together it feels puzzling. Also, a super-exciting update on why I still haven't reviewed the Ankyrox. Watch to find out! ZOMG! Yeah... I feel you man. Like you said, probably not their fault but still sucks. I also wish Takara Tomy or someone would be clearer on which kits seem to get restocks (the first two waves seemed like they have) and which won't, but I can't think of a precedent for that so doubt it would happen. |

Honestly, I don't buy that they're not going to restock the Ankyrox, maybe they just couldn't (or wouldn't) give HLJ and/or their supplier a clear timeline and HLJ just cancelled the kits in question for the time being. Probably easier than dealing with customers constantly asking about it when they don't have an answer. |
