The Arms and Claws were a lot of work to do! But there are also nice details and lot of movement options. Next step are the Legs.

At first glance I instantly thought "crap, he's really short!" then realized he hasn't any legs yet! ;-). Those claws do look nice!

Yes still have to build the legs. Arms and claws are different to the OER they are way bigger and longer. Details are great was not easy to put the tiny parts together.

Well that's what helps it with all the expressive articulation and will make it worth it! Still slightly dreading mine though! ;-)

The arms in general look great; still not a fan of the flat, boxy look, but the claws feel like they could do real damage now.

shovelchop81 : Well go for your ogre! Maybe i try to use my run and build it right next to the Gojulas, as i have now comparison in Color and design. Maethius : I like the design of the claws too, and the downside of the arms is also nice with different parts to cover the hydraulics, but you can see trough. Now working on the legs and feet, 6 sides of the Manual and tons of parts. Just cut out the parts from the sprues yesterday, and could not even finishing that! Ist fun anyway as the building after cutting is always easy and gives you many "Ahhhs" as you check the clue of the movement parts and things like that.

Wait, You cut all of the parts from the sprues first?? How do you keep all of that organised? And know what part is what?

I know some people build that way, and what they do is cut them out "by step," so that they bundle all parts needed for step #36, #37, and so forth, then when they finish bundling parts for a page, they start building step-by-step with each bundle and combine as necessary, so you can do all of one thing (cutting), then all of the other (building) without interruption. I don't like this method, but I know some others do.

I don't like this method, but I know some others do. That's how I do it, much simpler to have a page of parts pre-cut and de-nubbed (that's the only part of building I find annoying! Having to run a scalpel over the same damn spot on a part repetitively just to get it flush, wish I could just laser cut them off the sprues! ).

As CISSuperdroid and shovelchop81 say i cut all the parts for a couple of building steps (for example: The two legs) out and de-nub them. As there are more than 100 parts for this i arrange them loose together on the table.
The Advantage of this is that i dont Need to search the sprues again and again for each step. As i also put the Sprues together in alphabetical order in the box i can work trough the Manual. When i have all parts together i cut the nubs (and bleed ;-) ) and have the real pleasure to build.
I guess this is one of the faster variants, i would not do it in a different way on Models like Gojulas, as the efforts are to slow (as i could see during Building my Mirage liger). But thats only my personal favor now (and obviously from shovelchop too). Maybe ist for fun to see every Little step of growing what CISSuperdriod turns to to it different.
Just for fun i will take a pic from all parts for the legs when they are on the table.
Build on!

There's no right or wrong way to do it obviously! Personally I have so many builds on the go simultaneously for all my building projects that if I took a more leisurely approach nothing would get finished and I'd have even more loose parts in labelled containers being stacked to the ceiling! As I tend to do a lot of detailing, weathering and the odd dio these take precedence in my time management "system" (well that's a rather over confident way of putting it! ;-). ). But if you're working solely on one project at a time with no worry about getting the next one out, cutting and admiring each part as you go must be a nice way to do it.
oops, seem to be going off topic here but interesting to learn other members' building techniques.

So yea that makes sense, for a moment there I thought you cut everything out from every sprue and it terrified me. Funny you mention the legs on the table I done that recently with Deathstinger, 8 Legs in total. I must admit Death stinger sat there for a number of days legless due to the always daunting task

Anyone tried using a "hot-knife" to cut parts off sprues and eliminate the need for de-burring/de-nubbing? Just a something I thought up last night.
