I just got my Deadly Kong in the post today complete with nice big hole in the side (yay...) no internal damage done that I can spot yet. Anyway I saw on a much older post (2006) that there was a "scissor Arm weapon" to replace the "bandages". I'm hoping it's based on the weapon shown in the video here as I'd like to recreate that look using real bandages with script and the spinning gauntlet of blades and was wondering if the accessory set was a good place to start? Otherwise I'll just scratch build it, cheers!

What I ahte is that in the anime, the Scissor arm is PART of the D-Kong from the start, it's like it was just made separate as a cash grab...

That's the toy/collector industry for you, usually they make you buy the whole figure all over again for the "updated" version, so this add on kit isn't a bad idea really.

Well, and since the two Kongs share the smae basic under arm you coulkd mount the part on an I-Kong too. Or use the regular kong armor that probably is included in the D-Kong kit instead of those dumb plastic bandages.

I'm not sure if it comes with a second set of forearm armour, I looked through the instructions first thing (after checking the contents for damage) to what options I might have for the left forearm, all they showed was the plastic bandages.

WIki says it ahs 2 frames of parts shared with the ironkong and one half a frame isn't used. SO I'd look at the parts inside. The Ikong parts prob ably includes the arms,,a nd the right arm looks almost the same as the I-Kongs. I suppose it's possible it's different though. I do agree the plastic "bandages" are pretty dumb.

Yeah but this is a retool of the IK armour, it has sculpted and prepainted gold accents/details on the black armour, I forget the armour terminology, something like chevrons but not, it's French I believe (the word not the symbols) this is going to bug me all night now! .

I'm pretty sure the spare parts it comes with are leg pieces, specifically the grilles that go inside the thigh armor. and maybe some of the shoulder armor. most of the rest has been used or wasn't included.

If it has the shoulder armor, you could give it a rocket pod to go with one of it's shock cannons. Maybe. I'm really curious what the extra parts are now! ya gotta build it and show us!

It is the cover for the missles, not the actual shoulder armor unfortunatly. Though you could use the weapons from the hasbro Kong release as a replacement to the scissor arms....assuming one has that. All in all you will enjoy the kit. I tried painting the knight mask that the Kong has, but I think I made it look kinda like a hooker......lol. It needs to be painted though, imo. Maybe a silver coat. All in all, it is an awesome kit. You will like it :-)

How on earth could you make the DK's helmet look like a hooker?! I'd love to see that! Got any pics?

Yeah basically if it helps you identify, think about the colors. Deadly Kong replaces all the grey pieces on the normal kong with its own originals. The pieces you have left that you don't need are all red pieces. grilles, missile pod cover, that kinda thing. Only now they're in light gray. Hasbro kong comes with additional weapons, yeah, but not forearm armor. It'll still look like a naked spindly forearm with a gun on it
