Thanks so much for the info! I'll use this to my advantage and seek out the best price. I might want to wait a bit to seek out all three since the Masterpiece Zoids are coming out soon and I want to pick one of those up.
That's also an awesome find; I need to read all the way through that. They even have the same logo!

Usually cheap and comes with Van, Fiona, and seek, like the regular blade ligers.

At least Crown gets to be important again - according to the Zoids Dictionary, he's the director of Zi-ARMS in Infinity, and attempts to "release the forbidden power of the Seismosaurus". In VS3, technically the Rayse Tiger belongs to ZOITEC as well, and I remember Alma using a Helcat early on (Arrow and Alma are both working for ZOITEC during VS3). Didn't think Crown was that big of a deal in Infinity considering he only shows up once as well; and he's rather stuck! So Arrow is a straight up Zoitec employee in VS III then. Was never quite sure about the whole agent business. Also thanks for finding the C-Wolf artists page. Pity the pics for others are gone, Hasbro-style Holotech sounds like it would have been a fun one Lol, Battle of the Zoids certainly draws a lot of 'inspiration' from the UK comic!

I hope it's not too annoying to post translation questions, but I am always curious about naming stuff.
Is there any reason not to use Rei instead of Ray? It's how his name is spelled with kana. It's also how it's posted in English (in FMC, which I know isn't a good source but still), and Rei is an actual Japanese name. I'm just wondering if there's some translation rule or reference something that makes it Ray instead of Rei, or if Ray is just used because it's a more common spelling for American/Germanic names.

So Arrow is a straight up Zoitec employee in VS III then. Was never quite sure about the whole agent business. I probably should have worded that better... To be precise, Alma is the daughter of ZOITEC's director, which puts her in a fairly important position (considering the director has been kidnapped in VS III, she may be in charge of the entire company at this point). Arrow is working as an "agent" (basically a mercenary) after the collapse of Slash Wing, but he's under hire by Alma (and therefore ZOITEC) for the VS III storyline. Rei is quite acceptable (and the "official" spelling, although I don't always use those), but I use Ray for a few reasons. Firstly, the Battle Story very rarely uses Japanese names (the only obvious exceptions I can think of right now are the various Isurugis (Kei, Aki, Hiro, Takuma) and Hayami from the Web Comic... oh, and Sayaka Quinn), and his surname obviously isn't Japanese. Secondly, it matches the name of the Ray Force (although it wasn't named after him, so this is a bit dubious). Thirdly, I'd been reading other people's translations calling him "Ray" long before I heard about the "Rei" spelling in FMC, so it's kind of a habit now >_> And feel free to question my translations, I'm certainly not perfect!

Speaking of Slash Wing this is like 15x the actual size Also I've got the scans for Dimetroptera's Fanbook EX in the drive folder. Falcarius looks like there may be a couple PK members in Zoids2?

Thank you for the Dimetroptera scans! It's nice seeing a large version of the logo, too.
And thanks Falcarius for clarification on the name! It helps knowing what goes into the decision making of how to translate certain names.

For the zoids 2 (specifically red wing if it matters) is the chrome actually colored metal plating, or is it regular chrome plating, with paint on top to color it?

For the zoids 2 (specifically red wing if it matters) is the chrome actually colored metal plating, or is it regular chrome plating, with paint on top to color it? Short answer: if you had to choose one of those description, Red Wing's more similar to the latter but that wouldn't be accurate. Probably-way-too-long answer starts with this (poorly lit) pic Left= Leoshop chrome. Slightly less reflective but way more black and durable. Right= Grimmstudios chrome. A little more reflective (you can see my blurred fingers on Gairyuuki's leg armor) but has a purple tint in most lights and is less hardy than the Fury's coat. I also have Red Wing thanks to Hidocker (which you can see here zoido.smeat.net/red-wing) I just don't have a pic of it with Gairyuuki (yet) "Regular chrome plating" seems to describe electro-plating in Zoids chatter but that's kinda inaccurate. There are a number of ways in which you can "chrome" plastic figures aside from electro-plating. And fun fact: electro-plating plastic is waaaayyy more complicated/time-consuming than plating metal. I can plate my own metals in my bathtub in an appropriate work venue. There's also vacuum (a few types under that category, Zoids2 used one) dip (Leoshop most likely used on this Fury *based on the claws) spray (certain car logos and phone trims; also HMM chrome CP's) and the very risky "bake" chroming methods. Dip and vacuum are actually the most prevalent among standard-release Zoids. Red Wing is vacuum metallized with a good coat of its respective metal. Gairyuuki here is an example of vacuum chroming with a coat that's boarderline film. (I say vacuum chroming and not vacuum metallizing for reasons I'd rather not test with this particular Zoid. I suspect the D-Style ligers were a particularly poor case of vacuum chroming, though) Both Gairy (for the purposes of this explanation) and Red Wing have indeed been "painted" with a color. This is actually a good thing as paint helps preserve the metal where as a direct patina or clear-coat on a metal-coated-to-plastic is less helpful in the long run. See Zoids 2 Zoidzilla issues. The only true "non-painted" colors you can get while chroming are the colors of actual metals. "Silver" is usually made with Aluminum/aluminum alloys, Zinc-copper alloys (like brass) can make very pale yellowish colors and Lead can actually be used to make a sorta-kinda-black color. (Yes I know there are other possibilities with more complex alloy fiddling but it's not often seen in toy chroming) The rest, including the "gold" of my HMM Fox's bits or Evil Pegasus, are "painted" (I know about the other color embedding methods too but those still require a colored polymer which is more-or-less a fancy way to say paint. And again, not very common in toys) If you're worried that the red on Red Wing isn't shiny, don't be. It's just as reflective as a typical "silver" chrome. sorry-not-sorry about the avalanche of metal/chroming geekery I just get super excited about this stuff when it pops up

Thanks. I'm interested, because I would like to purchase one and change the color on top of the chrome if possible.

I MIGHT have snagged a special edition Dark Horn off of Mandarake if they actually have it in stock. Just curious as to what these usually go for so I can see if I got a decent deal. I've been wanting one for awhile and I figured this was the easiest way to get one so I went for it.

Is that the Silver Horn? I won one of those 'bout a decade back! ... I think it's still at Grimm Studios, come to think of it (I couldn't pay the shipping!)

Is it just me or are a bunch of images on the forum suddenly broken and stretching the main page?

I'm actually not 100% sure if this is the Silver Horn or not. I think it might be the Dark Horn special edition that the wiki mentions was released in 2001 in Japan that comes in a silver box. I'll find out if it's actually in stock though! It sucks you couldn't get your order.
For me the images are fine but I can't speak for everyone so someone else could be having an issue.
