I question the necessity of keeping the support struts on its back legs, when all other HMMs have abandoned them. Honestly, I think the big toe could have easily sufficed; now the zoid looks like some kind of inbred mutant with twelve toes. Speaking of freaks, those clenched teeth make it look like a Schwarzenegger caricature.
Well, regulation HMM-bashing aside, there is one silver lining to this bit of news. In the tradition of zoid rivalries, you can't have an Iron Kong without a Gojulas close by -_^

Overall though I'm extremely pleased with this! It doesn't stray too far from the original model and does what the HMM line does best, makes it better and more detailed. I'd have to say they got everything right! Both shoulder missile pods can open. The opening chest cavity is great! Anyone spot those "ribs"? Very cool. I'm really liking the enlarged shoulder cannon. Also, articulated fingers anyone? NICE.  Honestly I haven't been this excited about an HMM since I saw Buster Tortoise. |

I LOVE THIS KONG! As one who has been aggravated at Koto for unnecessarily changing up color schemes on a couple of Zoids, I have to say, this one is done completely right. Koto has made this into one malevolent looking ape. The thing that bothers me is...I know how stratospherically priced this one's going to be. Sadly, I will probably have to admire from afar  |

The cost is going to be the same as genobreaker (9800yen), but with the kong it seems like you're getting a lot more zoid for the money.
After studying the pics obsessively, it looks like the rocket launcher is attached to the backpack, and then rests on the arm... and that it can be stowed away when Kong needs to do some punching. That = AWESOME

This is absolutely amazing! If I wasn't currently pursuing Gilvader, I would so go after this, but like Vishus, I'll probably just admire this cool Kong from afar.

Didn't see this coming. If people think this is expensive, wait till the other Kong variations start coming out - including Deadly Kong. I guess the likes of Gojulas and Deathsaurer aren't out of the question, either.

Well the mutant toes don't bother me nearly as much as the goofy donkey-kong teeth, but both aberrations are easily corrected. It's gorgeous.
But me, I'll hold out for the inevitable Schwarz redeco. With hiblit vulcan. ;D
