HMM 001 - Shield Liger
HMM Line
From Wikipidea
Overview
The Shield Liger is a Lion type Zoid, created by the Helic Republic, and used during the various wars on Zi.
The Shield Liger's design was inspired by the Sabre Tiger, with the two designs sharing a number of components. While not created in direct competition to it, the Shield Liger proved to be a match for the Zenebas Zoid; the two had comparable arsenals and performance. While fast and agile in its day, the Shield Liger's performance has been exceeded by more modern Zoids. However, the Shield Liger remains a capable and versatile Zoid.
The Shield Liger's most distinctive feature is the Energy Shield built into its mane that gives it its name. The Shield Liger was the first Zoid to use an energy shield, at the time giving it an unparalleled advantage. The Shield covers the Liger's forwards half, protecting it from enemy weapons fire. In addition to a defensive measure, the Shield can also be utilised for high-speed ramming attacks.
High-End Master Model
In late 2006, a high-quality remodelled Shield Liger was released by TOMY and Kotobukiya as the first release of the High-end Master Model line.
A second limited edition of the HMM kit was recoloured in Desert Liger colours and a third was done in Shield Liger MK II style, complete with HMM versions of the CP-01 Dual Beam Cannons.

Design, Articulation & Features
The very first HMM zoid is the shield liger. A very detail redesign of the old shield liger. The head was narrow down and more sleeker to match its own body. Also the canopy was shrunk so that the head would
now have a nose compare to the original that the canopy is covering the nose. The shield fins are retain and the side fins from the head is now moveable so all of them can be deploy. The head is now stable is not shaky because its now has a ball joint on the neck. Also the teeth of this zoid is now very sharp. The tail weapon, the back weapon, the shock cannon and the missile weapon has also had a very nice detail design which add up to the looks, when they are deploy or post its even more better. From the top view it seems that the hind body is not proportional to the front body.(But who want to look at this kit from the top??) Other feature of this kit is a zoid core, a poseable hand pilot, a poseable legs, body, head and tail. but all kits comes with a flaw, the Side fins and paw armor tends to be lost from the start.
Assembly
This kit is hard to build for beginners, and for average builders of kits will challenging but will be very satisfying. A few flaws in the design of this kit is not so noticeable for who have not yet build this. The paw armor and the side fins are very hard to build since it does not fit correctly & the manual that not really help, respectively. The hydrolics that holds the missiles must be done with care since it tends to break easily.
Overall Verdic
Overall this is a great kit, with some issues that can be remedy and can be overwhelm by the looks while its being display. Always a nice addition to any zoid collection.

Design
This kit is just recolor of the original HMM SL with the color scheme of desert as the name implies. It has khaki brown armor, a dark brown body and a super light green claws and teeth. It has two canopies of Green and Clear.
Assembly
Same as with the HMM SL and the other ligers. Fairly easy if you your use to building HMM but still challenging. I decided to put all of the stickers instructed by the manual and it was even more challenging. ;D I have notice the armor part of the paws are much stable than the HMM SL, other than that its all the same. Take note that the female ball joint part of the hind body (3rd body part) must me glue since its going to be loose in time so better prevent it at early stage.
Articulation & Features
Same with the HMM SL. No more no less.
Overall Verdic
The very first HMM release, everything is just the same with the HMM SL, no gimmicks and new parts, but this was to be expected. First it was very affordable at a 2.5k price but nowadays it will be 4k and up. Not really recommended if your an average collector, you might want to get a HMM SL MK2 instead if you want a SL. THis kit is just recommended to HMM collector since its price is not affordable anymore. ;D

HMM 003 - Blade Liger
HMM Line
From Wikipidea
Overview
The Blade Liger is a Liger (Ligers are a Lion and Tiger mix) type Zoid.
While the Shield Liger's capabilities were solid for its day, the Blade Liger improves upon them, being faster and more agile than its predecessor. It also gains new weaponry, the most noticeable being a pair of laser-edged blades capable of cutting through all but the densest of enemy armor. Its energy shield is enhanced with the addition of four cooling units located in the white "fins" of its shoulder armor. Like the Shield Liger, it sports a shock cannon, and the Pulse Laser Guns found on the blunt sides of the blades add to the Zoid's limited ranged-combat ability.
In the anime Chaotic Century, Van Flyheight's Shield Liger evolves into the first Blade Liger with the help of his organoid Zeke. In contrast, much of the Blade Liger's enhanced performance in the battle story comes from the newly-discovered Organoid System built into the Zoid's design, which was used in upgrading it from a Shield Liger and increases its capabilities compared to a "normal" Zoid.

The first part of the head assemble is similar to the HMM01.You need some effort to assemble the skull part and the rest is an easy snap on. The only problem i encounter is the last fin which is the smallest that needs to be glue or it will fall apart. The trickiest part is the upper fin since the manual was not very helpful. The thing is the c-o-c-kpit is a two seater but will require you to remove the canopy just to
put the 2nd pilot.
The body is mostly parts from the HMM01 Shield liger. If you have built out already this will be an easy build. But for those have not, the tricky part here is assembling the body parts where the legs will connect since it requires coordination and brute force; And the part where the blades will connect since their is a possibility you could break a part when assembling it. Again 80% of the legs are from the HMM01 with the exception of the paw and shoulder armor. Still the problem from the HMM01 in the armor plate in the paws in still there, just remedy it with some glue. The armor fins for the front legs are much worse than of the HMM01, i have it rebuild several times but it seems its loose and seems its not fit unlike the rear legs fin. The whole shoulder armor tends to move out of place when posing the Liger, so just put glue to it so it wont move. A hard/long build time but if you have build a HMM01 before if becomes easy.
The tail is also the same with HMM01, the only difference is the end part (obviously) Need some painting to mimic the original BL. Nothing extavagant. The booster is somewhat disappointing, they remove the gimmick of the original BL that if you open the panel the booster will follow to pop-out. In HMM03 you must manually position the panel and the booster and again the joint part where you connect the booster the the body is loose.
The blade weapon is a nice recreation of the orig BL so no/less flaws in this part. You could paint it also if you want to mimic the box art. The body cannon has one flaw, that is the two pipelike that connects from the body, it is two fragile that can be break if pose not correctly. Overall kit part review is
Great.
Overall Verdic
Compare to the head of HMM01 this is bigger, a brighter blue and is much similar to the Box art and manual with very minimal painting require. The design is much sleeker that its counter part. Overall, a detail replica of the original with all the gimmicks included. Recommended to liger collectors.
