Some things you might not know about Deadly Kong

First off, there aren't many pictures, because my camera wasn't cooperating, and also I didn't get many shots that were different from what you've seen on zoids corner/zoids life.

Anyways....

Ze good (and ze relieving):

The fold out arms are NOTHING like what is pictured on the box. They are beefier and longer and have three segments.

The little gold curlicues are raised plastic that is painted. Judging from pics I was afraid they'd be some kind of devilish sticker setup.

The backpack mounting pegs are blox sized, which means customization possibilities!

Black and grey, the BEST colors for a kong, hands down.

Ze not so good

Eyes don't light up. No hole in side of body to see motor through. Claws aren't very flexible.

Really I do not have much bad to say about this zoid. I was expecting a turkey, but it is really better than the previews let on.

Ze ugly

I'm still not a big fan of the bandage, but the solution to that is coming soon. Otherwise, this is a sweet monkey.

Ze misc

Deadly is a lot beefier than regular Iron Kong. Check out the barrel chest:



The visor is pretty sweet, even if it makes him look like a medieval frog creature:



Ze conclusion

Highly recommended! Screw ligers, get you a monkey!!

tehehe indeed. I don't like iron kong, but the melee koney is teh cool. That and he looks like a jason monkey... when budget permits i'm tempted to get one, and a spino sapper or twoa nd do some modifying tot he saws... XD

I still have trouble accepting that it's a Zoid. Not that it's bad, it just doesn't look at all Zoidy to me (more like a Pokemon).

And where did you get your Iron Kong's silver substructure from? It looks cool.

PK. And I only just now noticed that it was silver. All this time I thought it was plain grey. Not only is it silver, it is also metal flake. I guess that's part of why everyone wants a PK.

Nice review, Hydocker. I've been looking foirward to Deadly moe then any other Genesis Zoid... half becuse I like Iron Kings, and half becuse I know it won't be a prevbuilt lump.

Some other htings you may not konow aobut Deadly Kong:

wow he looks cool, i kinna always thought the arms would surprize, people as they seemed to have forgotten, how big an ironkong was, they only looked small, but in comparison to the zoid its self. I am sorely tempted to get one but i dunno if i can afford the price that i have been quoted.

one thing I know its off topic a bit, bt in the anime he doesnt have the IK shovel knuckles, he had propper hands, you know 4 fingers and a thumb, also in the anime when he ripp soff the bandage, where the hell does it all go?, when he pull sit off its like a seen from the andrex comercial (puppy + toilet roll its a brittish thing i think) he'd be tripping over, and tieing himself up withthe thing.

I also agree with andy a bit, it doesnt look all that zoidy, but i fear its alaprt of a growing trend in zoids that they all are kinn startiing to look like digimon, or something of that nature, like personally the bios arent zoidy they look more like these dinosaur tranformers that were released a couple of years back called dinozaurs.

DK, despite its expensive price is one of the monkeys I happen to like. Its big and massive than IK, and I agree with you that this zoid has details (the gold marks and the face armour) that makes it interesting indeed. ;D

The lack of panel lines is ok really since it gave it a retro-medieval look.....and I cant really complain

I would want to custom one in the near future and I cant wait for the cps

I just got and built my Deadly Kong. It's pretty damned cool, actually. It looks like osmkone fgound Gore's headless body and ocmmited major darhting (And a bit of necromacny) on him. Cool beans.

The only beef I had with it are the bangages... so I gave the ones on mine a smoke wash and wipe, which made it look several hudnred percent better.

You can't see them that clearly, but basically there's a layer of paiunt concealed aorund the ridges that helps pick out the detail and makes them look a little more worn and grungy.

And a "Smoke wash" is painting the part in smoke-coloured paint (Clear greyish-brown) then wiping it way with a cloth or similar os it settles on the details. The reuslt is less "clear" then using a marker pen or similar to highlight details, but gives a better "dirty" look. I've used it in a couple of my customs.

theres a solution to the bandageds coming though so you dont have to put up with it for much longer, Btw andy i dont think it could be a pokemon, it may be kinda wierd with crapptastic weapons but its not even half way towards being annoying enough to qualify as a pokemon lol

Sorry i just still dont like him. Nice reveiw though!!!! He just looks way too power ranger-esc.
