Side note... I found another email, lionel.tosan@wanadoo.fr , but I got no reaction to it. Is there still an admin alive over at zoidspoison? Anyways... A bunch of things again for testing. Quickly slapped together a repair dock with generic textures. Not supposed to be a correct repair dock in any way just something to test with. Also pPut together a fully working repair terminal. The rest would be technical brabbling that's not important around here. As always, making great strides here. I like the idea of a repair dock... it would be really cool to update textures to scorch and smolder as they get more damaged... it would look kind of funny to see a totally fried Liger. In the old Zoid game, I found a decent description of it HERE

Yeah, I had the same idea. Just not sure yet how to do it as there are multiple ways to do this. I'll see what sticks.
Concerning that zoidspoison problem... you've got any ideas who else I could contact? The main two mail addresses rumming around do not seem to get you anywhere. What a bummer :/

The problem is more that the mails do not even get through because the mail-box is full or it is plain out disregarded even having the subject tag mentioned here. That's not really a "bad situation" for a forum... it's a catastrophy.

Looks like somehow the account is now activated. Nobody told me about this so I don't know when this happens. So they do not only NOT react to emails... they also don't tell you they activated the account in the mean time. :/ . Anyways... I should now be able to get some combined feedback then. Never hurts. So let's go on. I've once created a hangar scene in Blender Cycles. It's not a zoid hangar but an aircraft hangar but it served well as a backdrop. I decided to convert it over inte the ZPOC so the repair docks are not standing out in the sun . While being at it I added also night time lighting including a headlight on the liger. Maybe a bit small and short but that headlight shines over 40 to 50m . Scales in with zoids are kinda crazy. The hangar doesn't feel that huge anymore with all four ligers parked inside. I guess I should put some explosions back in. But would lasers do explosions? In the videos I've seen so far it looks more like smoke puffs. Anyways, here the video: As alwass, feedback welcome.

To my mind there is one only real accurate way to depict explosions: if the ordinance being used is explosive in nature (seems to be a "duh" here somewhere) it explodes! AND ... if the system being struck has a propensity to explode (fuel, capacitors, batteries, ammo, etc). then it could explode. I see lasers dealing damage more like in the Mechwarrior games or in Babylon 5, if anyone ever watched that show... they cut, drill, and saw through an enemy, then cause an explosion when they hit a critical system. Besides, it would be useful in game to be firing on a target with beams and to know your hit hurt more than just armor if an explosion wracked its side.... "Ah, that must have been the rocket launcher ammo!" I love the hangar, BTW, even if it isn't official.

I like that idea. This way somebody packed full with rockets or laser energy cells packs massive fire-power but runs a high risk of suffering serious damage from exploding ammo/cells if hit. On the other hand a zoid with less ammo would have to put his scarce ammo to better use but is not very suspectible to internal damage. A play-safe armament could be slug type weapons which are not as effective but except rupture to internal mechanics you would not be affected that much by direct hits (except rockets). Gives nice tactics. On with this into the design document

Exactly... it is also fitting when some Zoids would be very gun/ammo heavy and others are tapered down for almost exclusive melee fighting. When you think of how armor factors in, something like Dibison is huge and robust with tons of firepower, BUT, penetrate that armor at all and the whole thing is reduced to paper clips! On the flip side, an "under gunned" Zoid like Iron Kong (really has 3 missile locations, 1 of them being tactical use), would have a lot more structure under that armor, making it a really tough nut to crack.

Hey... this topic still exists. So after loosing the one on ZP no need to make a new one. So for those not in the known this is also a sort of topic about my little ZPOC where I mess around with some ideas. Not a concrete project since this would have also legal rammifications. Anyways I made some recordings of two sessions dabbling around with some experiments. This is also why it is a bit stretched as I didn't cut it together. Has stuff like breaking canopies, sniper rifles, sniper scoping, proxy mines and the geno made by DGMM and rigged and animated by me (just enough for some tests). Poor Geno needs something against head-aches after this one

Nice work! I love the body kinematics, and its nice to see the Geno up and running (and exploding!) Nice use of the in cockpit screen for targeting, as well.
