All I can say is, and do feel free to throw a frozen newt at me if anyone finds this a little offensive... technically, Blox was the first major insult to the Zoids brand. True, you build them, but in the same way that you build a car or a boat out of Legos. Even the original Blox designs compromised in form and quality for the sake of "customization" (see: putting random parts together). They also had no form of motors. But, more importantly, they had no form of interdependant engineering (piston moves leg, leg moves rod, rod moves claw...) When they first premiered I wouldn't have agreed. They apparently occupied the place of the articulated non-motorized Zoids (which I really liked) but they were still releasing traditional Zoids and it's always interesting to see them try something new. In hindsight, however, the introduction of Blox was totally when Zoids jumped the shark. The shelves in the U.S. were flooded with Blox where there once were the popular wind-ups and the line died soon after. In Japan they tried rejuvenating the line with the new 'Three Tigers' storyline, which heavily featured 'Blox Fusions', then there was the Fuzors line and cartoon which also pushed Blox compatibility. Neither of them seemed to be big hits. They released the prebuilt cyber-drive Zoids which didn't sell well enough to warrant further releases and are still fairly easy to find. The only new moulds in Genesis were either remoulds, pre-built, gravity zoids, or non-motorized (and entirely different from traditional zoids in terms of style) and that line didn't fare too well either. Series 2 of Baratz was cancelled and Neo Zoids and Custom Zoids were both canned after their first series. Now they're going to try and breathe new life into the brand by releasing smaller prebuilt zoids, probably including versions of existing zoids? When will they learn from their mistakes?

Wow. For some reason I have a feeling the '10 cm' thing isn't true, because $50 for a Zoid that size pre-built, it doesn't eem possible that even Tarka-Tomy would do that. Especially size that's what, the size of a Command Wolf? I have a feeling that as we get closer to the release, things well change. And on top of that, think you guys/gals are over reactiong a bit? [/i]We don't even have pictures yet[/i] of what these things look like. So, why don't we wait out, hmm? However, if this information is correct, I still don't care. I'd rather have there be the option of getting new Zoids, no matter how bad, then have no more Zoids at all.

There is the possibility 10cm was a typo and it may be 10 inches or 100cm (but that's prety big). I believe blox and bios did not kill the line (I find the bios awesome), but neoblox and Tomy Takara's stupid mistakes, explained by AbsumZero.

I would rather have crashing through a giant billboard of Cliff Richards and exploding than descending into the depths of Crappy Sitcom Land, as it were - but I'm weird, and used to being a fan of things long done and over with. I'm not saying much until I see pictures and solid proof, however, as I said .

Just to clarify, it's definitely 10cm. And it's also going to be a Gojulas Mariner (not just a regular Gojulas).

I think it's hard for Tomy to 'learn from its mistakes' when nobody buys anything until it's in an online store or something

DEATHSAURER WAS SO MUCH COOLER THAN GOJULAS AND THERE ARE ONLY...LIKE, 6 VERSIONS OF IT!!! (OJR, NJR, Crystal, Bloody, Mega, and Chrome apparently) If they were to do a gojulas, why not make it a gojulas MKII (white) and make him an opposition...IE deathsaurer. WE NEED MORE DEATHIES!!!!

But Centaur was cooler than Deathdog. (And I would so buy mini versions of either. In a heartbeat.) And you know, if this is some bastard child of a motorized and Junior Zoids Gojulas, I might actually go for that . It could be very good or very very bad.

AUGH. Well, it better the the neat 'perfect' Mariner, then. D:
'Cause I might want that. >> But not a Goju by itself.

Wow. This is the first time I felt anger through my computer monitor. First off; a 10 cm, $50 windup? Something smells zooflagellate-y here. Either they're actually building functional zoids, or... something else. Secondly; prebuiltness isn't (to my mind) all that bad. I love my Bio Kentro (name pending), and ache for a full Gensis!Liger Tridum. Then again, I like Blox/NeoBlox and a good number don't so... Thridly; Wow, they aren't going to start the line with a liger? They're going NJR-style (which started with RZ-01, Gojulas.) Fourthly; I'm guessing there'll be something else happening with this "Evo Drive" *snicker* buisness, so it's not all bad. At the very least, we'll likely have more Koto desgins, or something.
The thing is, this is preferrable to there being no new ideas or designs at all. Sure, $50 per unit is quite steep, especially for those of us who saw the uber-cheap death throes of the NAR. But who knows? The Koto-Shieldy was pretty pricey, and that seemed well-recived (to me.)
And change is necessary. They've been tweaking and ecperimenting ever since the Resurrection, with the NJR; rereleases, then new designs with painted details, new designs with lots of pieces for details, fusions/Blox, prebuilt bodies, NeoBlox, and now this.
Uhh... just don't get too worked up... or something. I started rambling and couldn't stop...

And they came with 400+ parts, ... hardly prebuilt!
