Agreed, don't buy the things.
Well the people at Tomy are off thier rockers!
Time to stock up on older zoids and kotos before these prebuilt tard things take over...

I'm not forming any opinions until I've seen pictures. But if all that is for something prebuilt...FAIL, to put it as cat macros do.

Frickity frackity fretcetera! Arm-waving angriness!
Seriously, it sounds like we're missing some critical information. If it's 10cm tall, motorised, pre-built *and* $50, there is probably something else as well - perhaps the entire thing is metal rather than plastic, like the fancy collectors' edition transformers. The idea that everybody seems to have right now is a product that doesn't seem like it would be very profitable.
As a rule of thumb, if all the information you have points to something unlikely, you probably don't have sufficient information. I'm for keeping our collective blood pressure down until we have some real info.

True, TT hasn't release any further information about this. Right now, everybody is speculating what it could be, which can be anything now.
For the price, it is really high, I do want to know what is it. If the line is to be comparable to the GFF (Gundam Fix Figuration), which is the high-end toyline for Gundam, I would find the price acceptable. If die-cast metal parts are used, it would also be acceptable.
What would be unacceptable, in my personal opinion, is the same quality of the Zoids line, with little color (or plain overall theme); basically just a scale-down Zoids won't do for me.
There's about 4 months to go, so there's a lot of time for everyone to rave and rant about the new line. Who knows what TT is thinking...

...Waitasecond. -.o We never questioned the reality of this information. *late "April Joke" senses tingling* Unfortunately my friend, this is not a joke. Not an April Fool's one anyways. I have also received this information from an old friend, whose data I do not doubt. It seems that this is the next step.

It's as if they're actually trying to kill the brand.

well, let's not panic. There's still a chance they could change this between now and then...there's still alot of time between now and then...I...um,...er-.... F*** F*** F*** F*** F***ITTY F*** F*** F***!!!!! PREBUILT!?! IT'S LIKE PAYING $50 FOR A F***ING MICROID!!! AAAAAARGH!!!! ...I have an idea. We write a letter/petition to tomy japan expressing our (and other's) EXTREME disapproval for this, and we get the signature of somebody important...like a tomy japan employee (high on the corporate ladder). Mods...?

All I can say is, and do feel free to throw a frozen newt at me if anyone finds this a little offensive... technically, Blox was the first major insult to the Zoids brand. True, you build them, but in the same way that you build a car or a boat out of Legos. Even the original Blox designs compromised in form and quality for the sake of "customization" (see: putting random parts together). They also had no form of motors. But, more importantly, they had no form of interdependant engineering (piston moves leg, leg moves rod, rod moves claw...)
I would view Blox, as their own line of products, as a pretty cool idea and quite collectible. They just aren't Zoids to me is all. Perhaps if they were designed to create animal forms without design compromises (pegs and holes all over the place), I would find them more interesting.
These new models are an unknown. I posted about the Koyo-kits, if they are extremely high in detail, exceptional in design and maintain the animal appearance, I would view them as an alternative line for Zoids.
To me it all comes down to quality.
