I've been watching Chaotic Century lately. Fiona's giggling and a few sudden personality transplants to some of the main characters aside I thought it was pretty good. Until the Guardian Force part started. It just keeps getting worse and worse (I'm up to episode 43 ATM). Does it get any better in the last three DVDs or should I just pass 'em up?

Much worse in my opinion. The filler eps and such for GF are fun in a cheesy way (I love The Emperor's Holiday and The Zoid Hunters), but the Death Stinger arc is repetitive pain that leads to everyone but Van (and a bit of Raven) getting tossed aside and Riese going all soppy.
The end fight is cool in a can't believe they did that cheesy way (fire the Blade Liger out of the gravity cannon at the Death Saurer and it WORKS!), but I don't think it's that worth it. I had the last three eps on Japanese VHS (which looked nicer than the one English DVD I have, such muddy color!) and sent it to someone else.
Oh, wait, and you finally get to find out Raven's tragic past, but I think it's done better in the manga and certainly should have been shown/better hinted at earlier than 49 episodes in >_>.

I loved the final fight scene but I still think it would have been much cooler if Van just went splat on the Deathsaurer's chest. ;D

Pretty much agree with what everyone has said.
Worth watching - Yes. Worth paying money for - No.
Thanks for the mental image Andy - the next TDP Zoid: Splat Liger ! ! !

of course it's worth watching.......... One of the best about the fight scenes are watching the continuation of damage of the blade liger,, it becomes so rooted by the end and looks very worn... and there are some cool fight scenes,, I paid money for the dvd's and am glad I done so

I think the whole series is worth watching. I got a pretty nice, good "used" set off ebay, from Volumes 3-11 for like 40 dollars from a cool guy, and I had 1-2 before hand,
so I spent a whole day eating Chinese Food[mmm, almond chicken] and watching the whole series.
even though I've seen it tons of times before on Cartoon Network, I still felt overwhelmed by how cool the series was still to me. Chaotic Century was pretty hot, esp. watching Raven own everything in sight and defying all Zoid principles. Then in Guardian Force it was pretty alright, I just nowadays watch all the battles, they're always good seeing how damaged the zoids get.
I especially liked the battle where Death Stinger faces off one-on-one with Blade Liger, no organoids. gg there.
its all cool to me, =D
then again, I have low standards of Anime, Dubbing, and whatnot, so meh. I love everything,
^_^

THIS COULD BE A SPOILER
One of my favourites is when Irvine, gets that "black and fast" zoid, I think is chapter 42 or so I love that chapter, it really excites me

The manga of most anime series tend to do a better job when it comes to certain aspects like character development and plot. *has all of GF on DVD as well as CC* At least in GF we're introduced to some new yet interesting characters.

Are you kidding? The guardian force ending simply rocked! Van was actually willing to sacrifice himself to destroy the death saurer, not only that but raven was also helping and his zoid got knocked flat... Play that episode again and pay a better attention. Guardian force was my favourite by a long shot. Although it would have been more dramatic if van's liger died after penetrating through the death saurer.

Van may have been willing to sacrifice himself, but the anime writers have no guts and never kill off the main "good" characters. I've watched the end arc plenty of times while paying attention, and other than a few bits (flying caaaaat!) I honestly really can't stand watching it any more...too much wasted potential, too much Hiltz exploding crap where there could have been character development and more explanation of Zoids Eve.
