Some new clear photos have surfaced! (torn between choosing this thread or the video one. Went with this one)
I'm seeing a lot to like-- the tail, the proportions, and the King Gojulas-like blast motion from the video. Pretty excited and definitely will pick this one up.

Its name is Zero Grizis, unless another official English spelling has popped up~ But agreed, the bubble eyes and general proportions make this guy look especially cartoony, and the super short proportions don't help a lot. It has a lot of cool parts designs, but not even sure they'd lend themselves super well to kit bashing. Was hoping it'd look good on something like a Rex base, but after looking more carefully, the head is much too small. Maybe something else as a base?

So "Grizis" is the official name it appears. Anyone have any idea what the heck that means, if anything? Some weird derivative of Gojulas or Gojira? A dinosaur I haven't heard of?

Yeah, that's the official English spelling (at least what is printed in CoroCoro). I have no idea what it means though. I don't think its a derivative of Gojulas or Godzilla. At least IMO the kana just doesn't fit either one. Google says Grizis is bulgarian for Grizzly Bear but I'd be really surprised if that wasn't just coincedence.

Zero Grizis is now up on TakaraTomy Mall! Looks like it has a slightly delayed release date from the CoroCoro one, releasing on August 8th instead of July 18th. |
