Just saw this on Twitter. Looks really cool, and I'm curious to see what it'll look like in the show.

It has a lot of elements of King Gojulas so my money's on it having a name like Emperor Gojulas or something

The current scuttlebutt is that it's going to be called "Zero Greizis", which is probably transcribed from Katakana, so they may alter that a bit for the actual box. I'm just glad this is real, the original pictures of this and Zero Phantus that I started a thread for looked... fishy. Still holding out hope for jointed legs on this guy, as well.

That one piston looking part on the left leg gives me hope the legs may be jointed.
Personally I'm pretty excited about seeing this one. I know it'll be silly and toy-ish just by virtue of being basically Godzilla-type, but so is King Gojulas which I love. Epic promo photo though!

I see the piston now. Timeline-wise, this would be a pre-Gojulas, so dodging the name directly would make sense. Looks like an exciting kit!

This takes place before regular zoids? I wasn't sure, it seemed kinda alternate universe. I mean it's on Earth, but it's sensible enough that if astronauts made it to Zi, some could have made it back with zoid cores..

Not sure of the Battle Story dates on it, but if it comes between Wild and OJR, that makes this a wild Zoid retro kit.

Has it been common knowledge that Zoids Wild Zero is canon to the original ZOIDS anime? I keep seeing this image pop up along side the promo images of our new kit. Is this strictly a fan work or is there more to it?

It's a little complicated. While the Zoids Wild Zero anime references earlier anime it's still kind of isolated in its own AU, because it's pulling from multiple medias that never existed in the same universe. Kind of like how Irvine is in the battlestory, anime, and manga, but all in different capacities with different stories. This is one of those incidences. Wolff is waving the flag of the Zenebas Empire, which is why this image is getting passed around so much (but yeah, it's a fanart of Wolff). Zero Phantos and Zero Greizis both have Zenebas logos (in purple) on them in the manga and as part of their decal sheet. Neo Neo Zenebas is Zero's attempt at revitalizing the Zenebas Empire, but this places it in an awkward position because some things (like the relationship between CPCs and the Gravity Cannon in past wars on Zi) directly reference earlier animes like CC, while Zenebas never existed in any capacity in the anime. Just to make things extra fun, the Zero Phantos that was shown off in videos had some unusual script decals on its legs, which low-key look like the Zoidian script that was used during the OJR stuff. Including the OJR Helic Logo which read "When light and darkness become one, a new world will arrive." This is probably me reading way too much into things, it's probably a loose reference at best, but all but 1 character on the front leg matched up with the Zoidian script. The last one was too blurry for me to see, and there are some 'iffy' ones where it's too blurry for me to tell if they have the small strike through the character, etc. But, it's still pretty close. I have a lot of mixed feelings about all of it. My Zoids nerd side is excited to see all these references, but it also kinda feels like them throwing "Hashtag" into modern day movies to make it sound hip, haha. We'll see how it goes~ I'm looking forward to seeing what all happens, and the Zero Zoids have a lot of horrific implications for their functionality. Spoilers Below- I know this is the Greizis thread, but the Phantos box/instruction lore revealed some interesting tidbits about these new Zero Zoids. Starting with the fact that they have Core Reactors (it's unclear how this differentiates between normal cores), which pump a dangerous Bio-Acid through the Reactor Lines (purple panel lines) on their body. Some keen individuals have also noticed that they had nodules behind their head, which the Phantos box calls Mind Horns. It also refers to the unusual visors as Eye Brains. The Bio-Acid that courses through their outer frame is said to be extremely deadly. The Phantos originally came from an underground temple in the North-West section of the continent, but the Bio-Acid killed every single person who tried to restore the Zoid, so it became recognized as a taboo and they stopped trying to excavate it. At the time of the box, it says that no human has ever successfully restored one. Granted, the box doesn't always line up with the anime (like Rex being impervious to lava-), but it's an interesting read.

Thanks for the insight Hanyoutai! I agree that it does feel somewhat inconsistent the way they've presented things. I do like the phrases "Mind Horns" and "Eye Brains" though, to me they sound like perfectly fitting Battle Story-type jargon : )

I agree that the Easter Eggs are starting to feel a bit like Star Wars: stuff tossed in for fan appeal that don't really make for a cohesive experience. To me it was a mistake going back to the wild Zoids concept and trying to marry it with man-made animal/machines. Of course Tomy was never really that clear with the story to begin with. This kit looks like it could be interesting, though. I wonder what kind of custom potential it actually has for me, looking as organic as it does.

Mind horn... makes me think of ATHF Zoids has always been fuzzy enough and had enough subcontinuities that I think you can fudge it all together relatively well. I'm just glad they still care about the old days instead of steamrolling over it all
