My family lives in Washington State; one of the hardest hit in the USA by the corona virus. We are well at this point, and are using common sense social distancing, which drives my kids nuts. So far, so good.
How are you doing in your corners of the world? I hope you are well, and my prayers and thoughts go out to you.

It's good to hear that your family is doing well so far! Have you had much luck in the stores? Must be a challenge to keep kids entertained during all of this!
We're also in Washington State. Things are going ok-ish so far. Dad works up at one of the Boeing facilities and just took a 2-3 day mandatory paid leave after his supervisor was suspected of having the virus. They tested negative, so now it's back to work. At least one of his co-workers tested positive, so we'll probably see it go through the family, but we only have one person that we're kind of worried about with it and thankfully none of us fall into the likely serious infection range.
Shopping has been the biggest challenge so far. Even after going to 4-5 stores we can't find half of our dinner ingredients, so its been mostly box dinners. If worse comes to worst can always eat canned green beans, but it's getting expensive having to go out and search for stuff.
Common sense is definitely the way to go, and best of luck to everyone who has to venture out to find supplies!

Geez Hanyoutai, I can't believe Boeing is sending them back to work under those circumstances. I know everyone is under unprecedented pressures but keeping employees around after someone has already tested positive seems like a harmful misstep. But I'm glad you guys are keeping a clear head about everything.
I am in California, so between the three responses so far, we have two of the three hardest-hit states in the US represented... around here there hasn't been that much shortage of grocery shopping (yet). Definitely have seen some cleaning supplies get disproportionately bought up, but everything is essentially on lockdown with shelter in place orders set until early or mid April at least.

NYC here. Pretty worried about the elevators and laundromats in my building. I have masks and goggles, but still. :/
I'm fine for now, I stocked up on supplies in early Feb. to avoid the mad rush at the supermarkets. Good thing I'm a shut-in, anyway.

We were fortunate. Since our kids are picky eaters and my wife loves to cook, we were well stocked before this all started. Also, while people were gutting the stores for toilet paper (really, what the actual hell?!) and sanitizer, we immediately stocked up on staples like meat, cheese, eggs, bread, and cold/flu meds. Mind you, those were all gone 2 days later, and it took Walmart a week to get any paper products back in stock. FINALLY the stores began to meter out products "one per purchase" to prevent hording.
We are attempting to support our local restaurants as much as we can... our income really isn't in danger even if I am furloughed, so we are making sure every few nights we get take-out from non-chain places.

Man, now we're 3 for 3 for US states with most reported cases spoken for here. Crazy how fast this all happened-- around my area at least, things were relatively unchanged a couple weeks ago, and now it's totally normal that I'd be posting about groceries on a Zoids message board. Even if it's a small thing, thanks for starting this thread Maethius-- I hope people are looking out for each other online and in real life as well.

Small town folks tend to keep an eye out, but it is the Spring Break crowd that worries me. Not the partiers, per se, but those who are "willing to take the risk" and go on having fun without a single thought about the impact that decision will have on others.

In France we are closed. All confined since 8 days, and it is going to last. And I think we waited one or two weeks too much. We should have done that before. I'm just finishing the covid. It spent me 10 days, with fever, coughing... Well, one disease after another. Heart attack in november, covid now...

Wow, surprised how many of us are clustered into those few states. Sorry to hear, Lionel. For both things -- Covid and the heart attack. Given those circumstances though, I'm very glad you made it through covid ok!
We still don't have any sickness in the family, thankfully, but there is some ugly office gossip going around Boeing about extended mandatory (unpaid) leave. For now, we've got 2 weeks paid leave, to try to tide everyone through the crisis.

I'm in Switzerland. I don't think I've ever mentioned this on here, but I'm a schoolteacher, and they shut down all the schools starting last week. No complete lockdown as of yet, but until recently people were being stupid about the social distancing stuff and they're adapting slowly, so I wouldn't be surprised if there's a curfew soon.
My school's switched to online teaching, so I actually have more work at the moment if anything, and March is already the busiest time of the schoolyear anyway. As far as getting sick, I'm really only worried about my dad because he's on immunosuppressants and he had a lung embolism not long ago, but my parents live way out in the sticks and have someone doing their grocery shopping for them, so hopefully he's going to be okay. I'm really just worried that this is going to put my school out of business because we're an international boarding school and we currently have a lot of kids from China. I could kind of see a lot of Chinese families no longer wanting to ship their kids halfway across the world for school anymore when this all blows over. Especially since they can see very well that Europe isn't handling this as well as they did.

Ah ? Schoolteacher too. I was happy to go back to school after the winter holidays, I was maybe the sole to be happy after 4 month at home. I made one week, and even did not finished the week, because ill, and after, confinement.
The good thing with the heart attack, is that I was expecting it (it is a familly disease), and I know right away what was happening. So I was taken and cured right away, but all my heart had to be rebuilt. And after that, I had to do reeducation and sport. And now that I'm done with the covid, I'm going to restart to move.

Man, that's rough, Lionel, I'm glad you're ok. It's a good thing you didn't need a transplant, that would NOT have been good timing...
As for school, it's funny - It's only been a bit under two weeks, but I've noticed that a) I really do miss my students and b) the only reason I always thought I liked being alone is because I'm surrounded by people at work all the time, and now that that's gone, I'm really not enjoying the isolation.
And I seriously doubt we're going to be back to anywhere near normal before June.

In somewhat related news, I just released a big order from HLJ - about 30'000 JPY's worth of Zoids, Gunpla and Ma.K. I opted for EMS again because the other courier options were almost twice as expensive, but it should be... interesting to see how long it takes for that to get here now, to say the least. The Swiss postal service is no longer accepting packages to Japan.

We've been homeschooling for two weeks now, and have realized a few things:
1) Teacher rock even more than we give them credit for (and WE do give them high credit!)
2) A 6-year-old with ADHD, an Autistic 9-year-old, and a typical (but highly capable) 13-year-old girl makes for quite a stressful classroom
3) Home schooling is probably a pretty wonderful option for our family, BUT...
4) NOT WHEN ALL THE PARKS ARE CLOSED!

Oh, one other matter for my family is that we lost power to half of our house. So, not only are we stuck at home, we only have half a lit/warmed home and my shop is dead half the time. The electrician said we will have it fixed probably by next Tuesday... to the cost of about $800 USD. I'm blessed that my job hasn't furloughed us due the virus, though.
