As an educator, things have been strange.
I was doing a leave replacement which ended during quarantine. My principal has since been extremely uncommunicative and I may be owed a check.
Otherwise, I am doing ok. Things in NY are pretty tense but I can report that my immediate family and SO are currently not at risk of infection. The way our federal government has been handling all of this has not been...good...at all. Unemployment and I still have a fantastic game of phone tag going....several hundred hours of phone calls...
To keep myself busy? Reading, gaming and I just purchased a microphone to get into Voice Acting like I always wanted too. My SO just purchased a new graphic display for their art so they can work on improving their skills with digital. All things considered, we are pretty lucky. It just sucks that we had to isolate separately.
Lionel I am happy to hear that you and your family are safe. Sorry you had to go through that. I hope everyone else stays safe and healthy as well

So... at least here in the US things have changed and, from my perspective, gotten even more chaotic. Best wishes to everyone, stay safe all.

Started to be able to go outside... now there are curfews in place for many people. Egads. We went to a state park yesterday and had a picnic in a wide open field overlooking Puget Sound! It was wonderful to get outside again. Mid-week, so there was basically nobody else there. I think the kids actually appreciated how quiet it was... which is ironic. ^_^

Things in the US are tense right now. Please look out for your neighbors, friends, family, and members of your community. If you are out there protesting, be safe. Know your rights, have someone you can call in case of an emergency. Please also do what you can to help the people of Hong Kong in their time of crisis.
We will end police brutality, their violations of the Geneva Convention, and systematic racial oppression.
Black lives matter.
(Also, if any of you are students or parents that are hurt by these crisis, please Pm me anytime concerning mathematical or digital learning advice. I am ready and able to help)

I’m a little late to this party/thread. Hope that all is well. Was surprised at how many fellow zoids collectors are in education (for their career).
I’m a nurse. I have been lucky in that no covid-19 cases on my floor. Yet. However I am not an ICU nurse and have been made to take a 2.5 hour class on how to take care of ICU patients/those on ventilators. It honestly scares me as ICU is a very specialized area and those nurses and doctors are amazing. I am just a “floor” nurse... so I find it very scary to maybe take care of these patients. I can’t disclose exactly where I work but it’s a federal position that I do know is not reporting the case # to state... The humans around me amaze me with their idiotic tendencies... there are more people in Wal-Mart now than before the covid crap flared up. Social distancing my a$$ what’s that? The governor put out a statement last weekend about requiring people to wear face masks but the local sheriff posted on social media that he nor his deputies will enforce it so... really. What is wrong with Louisiana? It’s like people In my state are stupid beyond belief or in very impressive denial. Or both. Example I recently decided (stupidly) to get out of the house and go to the races about an hour from me. Myself and fiancé wore masks. Literally NO ONE else had one on. And we received lots of dirty looks like we were the covid. I think I am done with humans in my area. I can only care for y’all so long... you wanna take chances i maybe the inexperienced nurse caring for ya on that vent soon so keep it up. I hope most other people are smarter than those in my area!

So grateful you are out there on the front lines! I just wish there were more people willing to back emergency workers in the simplest way. We all wear our masks we we go out, sit at separate tables when meeting with family in a public place, and seeing people without masks crammed together at a state park drives my 13-year-old daughter nuts. We now see well above 90% compliance here, and we have a good urban/rural/military mix. I'm still not convinced that COVID is as widespread deadly as it is publicly made out to be... but I'm also not stupid, and realize that NOBODY has the facts. For now, I see no reason not to use every caution to protect my kids, my parents, the kids and parents of everyone else, and those placing themselves in harm's way for us.

commandliger hats off to you. I'm sure being a nurse is hard enough under normal circumstances, let alone with a pandemic and intentional misinformation going around. It's so messed up that other people were threatening/you just for keeping yourselves safe and trying to do your part.

Zoidmagnite touching base. Currently in Indiana and taking it one day at a time. Surprised to see all of the teachers in Zoiding--I tip my hat to you! My career and future is forever gone. So, I was asked about graduate school, and I'm like.....well....assuming I had a choice (that is, if you could call where I am at, some kind of life), it sounds a good bit better than where I am at. Still trying to figure out how to get started with that. Given where my life is currently at, the pandemic, for me, is just a tanker truck full of diesel fuel on an already blazing inferno. That said, I am thankful that I still have all of my Zoids. I have my mask, and travel only as necessary, and follow all of the guidelines.

I know we all say it a lot, sometimes almost flippantly these days, but do take care of yourself! Find any sliver of joy you can find and plod forward.
