Note that Snake/Viper makes a great tail for Salamander!

Man Darth, you've been keeping the Zoids passion burning for the last few years! keep up with the YT video! Thanks! Things have slowed down a bit on my channel, but I'm not going anywhere

...and here's that weird dragon Zoid from that card game I've never heard of. Paid way too much for this, and if I'm honest, I'm not sure if I would have bought it if I didn't have a Youtube channel, but... well, I bought it, so here it is.

It isn't a bad looking kit... (combo?)... but it does have that kind of kit-bashy quality to it. The box art really does give it a special feel, too. Kind of like when I first saw Orudios and Gungylado (sigh... I will never spell that right) for the first time.

Gungylado (sigh... I will never spell that right) Well, there wasn't even an official Romaji spelling until the ZG version came out, the OJR box didn't have anything for some reason. People spelled it Gungyarados in Western Zoider circles for years. So I've always kind of felt that one's a bit of a free-for-all. Anyway, I just wish the kit's colors were closer to the boxart, I guess.

Been so long since I've done this that I clean forgot to post it here...

Glad you did, though!
Really a nice adaptation, especially for the size of the kit. Funny to see how similar the jointing is to the custom I did, but it IS a Redra after all! Thanks for posting the vid!

So satisfying seeing those legs actually jointed, I feel like at the beginning of the HMM line, they were changing their looks more, so we might have gotten a more individually jointed tail (though I guess not since then how would they have the pop-out blade), but I like how much more authentic this feels. I'm really interested now in seeing how they might handle Heldigunner. The parts also look pretty reasonable, not too many microscopic ones. If this is how HMM was from the start, and if they were affordable, I would probably have gotten into them

I had originally planned a custom that could have extra joints as well as the tail blade: In the end I decided to shrink the blade a bit and move it to the last joint of the tail. I suppose a third option would be to split the main tail segment but keep that joint inflexible while the blade is stowed, then allow flexibility when the blade is engaged.

If this is how HMM was from the start, and if they were affordable, I would probably have gotten into them What you're referring to hasn't stopped me in the past, but I certainly agree this is HMM done right - the closer they are to "like the original, but with more detail", the more I like them. Truth be told, while I love the fact that the HMM Gojulas exists, I still think it looks weird. I'll build my Ogre eventually, and I'll probably spend months painting it, but I wish it looked more like the real thing.

Salamander HMM... dude... setting money aside now. You KNOW the Bombvern will be available, too!

Salamander HMM... dude... setting money aside now. You KNOW the Bombvern will be available, too! Yeah, like I said in the other thread, that seems like about as safe a bet as any. The Gojulas cannons already exist, so I'm guessing we'll see Salamander, then the cannons, then the Bombvern.

...and I finally got the AZ-01 Bladey reviewed. Phew. This one was extra difficult to do because my microphone crapped out during the unboxing, and so I had to record a voiceover and edit the entire thing so it would make at least a little sense. Nevermind that this is the part of the video like 90% of people skip over anyway...
