Zoids Wild has it’s first adaption outside of Japan! Daewon has licensed the series from Takara-Tomy for release in South Korea. The first wave of kits (ZW-01 to ZW-06) will be available on August 23rd and the anime will start airing on September 8th. This is a true adaption too, as the boxes for the kits have been re-done slightly, with text in Korean with a few added company logos. You can check out the differences on their Online Catalog. Pricing wise, the Small sized kits are 15,600원 and the Medium sized kits are listed at 39,000원, or about $14 USD and $35 USD respectively. Comparatively, the Small sized kits are 1200Y and the Medium sized kits are 3000Y in the Japanese market, or about $11 USD and $27 USD respectively - so a slight markup for the Korean market. Also, the anime has been translated into Korean as well with a few changes. From the teaser trailer, Arashi has been renamed Storm and Onigiri has been renamed Rice This is really promising news that the series is already branching out of Japan!

It doesn't so much beat its chest as shake invisible maracas.. I'm disappointed with its small size, but I guess there's no rule that says gorillers have to be gigantic. I wish we had videos like this in the good old days, as mildly embarrassing as they are. I can't tell what the idea is with the feet sort of lifting but leaving a piece behind, but it's appreciated at least. The mechanism change is neat, but then it has these spindly legs more exposed. I'm really surprised the hands actually rotate, I assumed the covers were supposed to hide the hands being in an inappropriate orientation for chestbeating, but that makes this the one wild blast (er.. "death blast" ?) that you pretty much do yourself manually, yeah?

It's the first out of the medium motorized, but all of the small windup kits also require you to manually adjust the Wild Blast as well. Fully automating the process would have its complications, I imagine. Especially as you'd have to have mechanisms going all through the arms.
Very exciting to hear it moving over to South Korea! Thank you for the video and all the links~

Raptor's cute little skipping walk is totally precious. No wonder Death Metal has so many of them.

Oh no, they're actually using that "Perfect Human Katayama" alias for the developer?Episode 6 subs are done: Youtube version / TV ripEDIT: Apparently this episode has a particularly noticeable issue (an unwanted line-break in the episode title) if you don't have the right fonts, so I've made a font pack for anyone using the softsubs. Also, good news for anyone who wants a white Kabtor: Korea's giving them out to anyone who preorders more than 70000 won (about 62 USD) worth of Zoids Wild products. (And Snowflake, all of the Wild Blasts so far are manually triggered by moving parts around, except for Wild Liger and Grachiosaurus (and soon Triceradogos).)

I finally received an email back from HLJ after inquiring about Kuwanga and Grachiosaurus. It turns out that both of them, as well as Wild Liger, have been discontinued internally specifically mentioning “supplier issues” and there are currently no future plans to carry them. Seems a bit odd that because of presumably too much demand/too little supply that they’d just stop carrying them, but at least there is still AmiAmi / AmazonJP / eBay for those looking for them.

So since YouTube keeps blocking episode 6 worldwide due to copyright claim every time I try to upload it, I've uploaded all past and episodes to come on my Drive here, including Falc's subs. Lazy copy paste from tumblr:

Looks like AmiAmi and HLJ haven't picked up the latest wave. My guess is they want nothing more to do with this until TT gets its supply issues sorted to meet the demand. I contacted HLJ regarding my Grachiosaurus and apparently TT sent them far fewer than they ordered, so no doubt they ended up with lots of unhappy customers. I wouldn't be surprised if AmiAmi faced the same issues.

I still have to get the small ones and ZW08. Death Rex is a big investment.
