I kind of like the look of that Kong, but good grief, the walking movement is pathetic. I can't help but directly compare this to Iron Kong and it, um, doesn't stack up well. Although I guess the Wild Blast is cool.

I think all of the mechanics went into the chest beating mechanic.

I think all of the mechanics went into the chest beating mechanic. Clearly. And it's kind of nice in a way because I remember as a kid in the 80s I hoped Iron Kong would do this and it's kind of great to see it actually happen now. But it comes at... a cost.

I saw in the anime a spider type or similar in, chart that Onigiri tales out.
Do we know anything about this model?

Although we have not seen a picture for it, I suspect it will be the "Spydeath" name that was leaked.

Those guys were featured in the mobile app too, I do believe~ TakaraTomy just posted a video showing off some of the newer Zoids, and that a few parts are compatible with other kits. Not that they don't look absolutely awful, haha, but at least it's something.

Apparently the Death Rex is on exhibit at the Christmas Toy Trade Fair, with some good photos here. I'm loving the look of this Zoid. It may be very stoobly but I love the death and face design.

Further pictures from Dengeki Hobby (warning: 100+ images) show a nice size comparison and this picture shows that the Hunter Wolf was also there, but I've not seen any complete pictures of it. From this we could maybe guess that Catarga Carrier was present as well?

As I said from the start, Death Rex looks really cool. BUT I really don't know what TT is doing (and I guess they don't know either..) First they show the initial 14 Zoids and even make a thing out of it by showing that whole line-up poster. Then they do nothing with Fang Tiger (but he was finished way back when), but filed a patent on the name (but the model was allready done) In October there are no releases at all. Then they show Death Rex and Hunter Wolf (which come out in December) but leave out Wild Liger DX (which is still laughable, because..well for obvious reasons) Stegosäge (sage) and Gusock. 3 Zoids which will come out earlier (November) then Catalga, Hunter and Rex.
Death Rex, Hunter and Catalga all come out at the end of December (way past Christmas probably, as all previous WZ have come out at the end of each month) It all sounds really random..
Are you still following this? Yeah.. no.. me neither.. It all sounds really inconsistent.
But DR looks really cool though..
Maybe TT took a course: "How to confuse the "bleep" out of your fanbase" (which is now focused on kids, which is semi understandable) BUT no news on Koto kits...because of that.. BAD decision making TT... (because Koto and Wild could and should co-exist..)

Given they were displayed at the "Christmas" Toy Trade Fair, I imagine they'll be available around Christmas, or at least close enough that I'm sure no kid will fuss over it? Since it was a Christmas toy lineup, it's no surprise to me that they left out their non-December Zoids. As for the continuation, it seems to make sense to me, though I understand everyone wants the Fang Tiger and it is a bit peculiar that it isn't on the current schedule. I suspect, however, that Fang Tiger and Bacon will play a bigger part later on down the line. In which case, it may make less sense to release it after its 2 "I'm here as a convenient plot point" episodes. Bacon has just shown up again AFTER Arashi's first fight with Gallaghar's personal Gilraptor, so I think we'll see a lot more of him later. I can't speak for Hunter Wolf but I'm assuming most of the others will appear before the Death Rex does. We've got many episodes to go before the end of the year. Also not sure if the anime will have the same Deathy gang, but Catalga appears beside Death Rex in the manga, so I'm guessing it'll still be Gallaghers nice little chair carrier instead of his Rex, who will follow loyally behind. It being released at the same time as Death Rex makes sense in this case. Knuckle Kong was also there, but I'm sure we'll see a hint of him in the anime earlier than that. He seems like a "lesser" Death Metal bad guy to me, for some reason. I'm still personally convinced that Koto is just done with producing Zoids for now, while their Hexgear line is running strong. I wouldn't point the finger at TT's decision making when we don't know what's really going on. I'm sure there's some relation, but still, it could be a matter of convenience for Koto, who already released the two main series that everyone loves and wants their own robot critters, complete with similar (same?) designers.

In the background of this photo, I can make out a couple of signs saying "Stegosage" and "no photos", so I suspect they actually showed off all this year's upcoming Zoids but only allowed photos of ZW09 (Raptor) to ZW12 (Death Rex) - in other words, the three that have been fully revealed and made available for preorder plus the "mysterious" final boss that they're trying to hype up. (Delaying the Rex from October to December means the numbering doesn't match up with the release order, but it's not the first time this has happened.) As Han said, I'm guessing Fang Tiger will be released later once it starts to play a bigger part in the story, and only got shown off early to tie in with its brief appearance in the first chapters/episodes (also, the model we saw may have been an early mockup rather than a finalised production model). I suspect the anime will spend the next couple of months introducing the remaining Elite Four members (Caviar/Gabrigator, hulk/Knuckle Kong and clown/Stegosage) before Death Rex and Fang Tiger do anything significant, although we may see cameos of them before then. TT's insistence on keeping the names of upcoming Zoids secret does seem odd, though, particularly when they've already been revealed in CoroCoro (like when the anime Twitter teased "a saber-toothed tiger-type Zoid" after the first manga chapter had already been freely available online for over a month). I suppose it's in case they decide to change the name at the last minute, like they apparently did with Descat (it got a couple of magazine appearances under the name "Panther").
