Red plastic syndrome is a real drag, but you can kinda tell beforehand what kind yours is. It'll have that translucence to it. It'll look more like candle wax than plastic. As for gold plastic syndrome, I thought that was over long before fire fox came out.

All holotechs apparently are brittle too. I think that's even mentioned on the wiki, that holotech zoids get brittle.

As for gold plastic syndrome, I thought that was over long before fire fox came out. I've never heard of red plastic syndrome, is that like GPS? The red plastic on my FireFox has no issues but all the gold is splintering like crazy even with it sitting still on a shelf. And I did a quick look up and found reported cases of GPS in Transformers all the way up to 2008, don't know if there are any more past that. FireFox came out in 2003. The plastic on my holotechs seems sturdy. It doesn't have the same feel as the more brittle types of clear plastic I've encountered (from car model kits). The HMM holotechs feel more brittle but I'm not too worried about it. Still want to be careful with them, doubt they'd handle a shelf dive too well.

As much as I love the HMM Blade Liger, it might be worth it to avoid the Leon version, like you guys mentioned the red plastic sucks. You know the top shield generator/mane piece? The peg for it snapped when I was merely positioning it to go in. Didn't even use extra force. Several other red pegs followed suit as the build went on, and I was lucky it was all fixable with glue. The things that hold up the blades and boosters are the worst, all three pegs come off if you breathe on them wrong. The ones on my Shield Liger Mk II were way sturdier, and they hold up the cannons fine.
HMM Cannon Tortoise doesn't fit together well either overall.
Weirdly enough I've had no issues with my Leena Sniper so far, though...

I guess someone make a mistake, not all the red plastic has problem, just some(a few) has this type of problem.
Like Death Saurer, Death Razer and Geno Breaker, they have lot of red plastic, but they don't have this kind of problem.
Same as gold plastic, I think Fire Fox are the one that everyone keep talking about. Others like Saber Tiger Gold or Genesis' Liger didn't hear much problem about their gold plastic.

The gold on Fire Fox is a much different color from those Zoids. It is very dark compared, like a tarnished color. They were also made at different times so may use different chemical makeups for the plastic.
I seem to be the only person that got a very bad Breaker. Which I guess is good. Every piece I put together for my old one left white stretch marks where the peg attached. As if it was not fitted right. Breaker is also a very different red, though.

From what I have heard, only the breakers from the hasbro line were bad. I have one of the hasbro ones and the piece/peg that is attached to the body, to allow the leg to move, snapped clean off with little to no effort. Nothing a ten penny nail and some glue couldn't fix, but annoying none the less. I have also seen the red on the shield be completely transparent on the hasbro breaker, but not the tomy breaker.

I've kinda logged the progress of my "doom maroon" Zoids and their variants NJR Styluarmor- legs are good but the gun connectors broke after about a year. Fuzors/Ultimate Siesmosaurus version uses a deeper, less fragile red and holds up great. Don't own the Limited Blue Styluarmor but I'm guessing it's safest of the bunch. NJR Storm Bros- the ankles/foot connection have ominous cracks. The connection point for Scissorstorm's head-crest thingy broke pretty easily as did one of the shoulder holes on Laserstorm while I was putting it together. Can't comment on the Fuzors/Ultimate Seismosaurus versions but the red (which is totally NOT PINK in-low-lighting) on the Hasbro Storm bros are great even after many different fusion attempts with Hasbro Sissy. NJR Seismosaurus- better than the other doom maroons but mine's never been fully built since it's slated for a custom project. Can't comment on Fuzors/Ultimate Sissy but Hasbro Sissy is absolutely great. I love this Sissy. Deantler- this thing is not a Zoid, it is plague that breaks upon touch. If you see it, stop whatever you were doing and walk calmly in the opposite direction. Save yourselves
NJR Storch, Dimetrodon, the darker bits on Energy Liger and Sturm Tyrann use a different plastic from the "doom maroon" Zoids above and they've all held up through at least 3 major moves for me (poor old Dimetrodon has gone through all 5 moves and lost a leg somewhere along the way though ) Leon35 you asked about Tyrann; mine didn't scar but the semi-rubbery joints for the big boosters and claws have cracked with age. CeilYurei Holotechs are pretty good as a whole. Clear Molga however, is a mess. Yellowed really fast despite sitting in a glass display where white Zoids of the same age and older have stayed white.

The connection points for the blades on my hasbro rev rapter snapped pretty easily, but then so did his foot, and that's black plastic.

But I need a deantler and Laser storm if I want to make my Brastle into an Armargasaurus...damnit. We need fans to get 3d printers and start making copies of the weaker zoids with better plastics.

Whoa I can't believe I forgot this but stumbled upon them when I was checking on poor FireFox today. (There's chunks of gold plastic that had broke off and one foot is fully broken off now...) All blox. Horrid design in the joints. Loose as all heck. Rag doll Zoids. Really irritates me because one of my favorite Zoid designs are the Yujin plants. They will not stay together so I can never display them. I will end up having to mod them somehow which I hesitate at considering their rarity. But they're not worth much sitting as a pile of parts. (The oneblox and whatever the series Murasame blox is from are okay though, they don't use the loose style of joints.)

ANd yeah, i noticed that with my blox zoids, ahrd to make them stand when posed. Problem is the two blox aren't really compatable and they never released the old Blox with Neo Blox parts so...kinda screwed if you want blox zoids.
