Hmm. A bit of a miss for me. I know it's common to put the Zoid outside the frame a bit but here it just detracts. The porportions also take away from its large, chompy head. The rendering itself is great, just not a favorite. Love the care that went into the background, wtih bits and pieces falling through.

I agree with Hanyoutai. Hopefully we get a wallpaper version of the boxart, like we did with Jaime's Pteras. Unlike it's predecessor, this Gojulas's boxart is horizontal, and I think it would make for a really awesome browser theme, without the Gojulas.

I'm quite a fan of the box art, actually. I think the worm's-eye-view sells the size of the Gojulas really well, and I adore the little cameos in the background - a couple of Shield Ligers, a Pteras, a standard Command Wolf and, for whatever reason, the Command Wolf Irvine, plus one just under the 'E' I can't make out, and two disembodied guns in the corner. I really love it when the box art tells a story (my absolute favourite HMM box art of all time is the regular Dark Horn for just that reason).

The Command Wolf Irvine may be there as a subtle nod to the anime, since it's harder to incorporate pilots into the box arts. Irvine was supposed to pilot the Gojulas out onto the battlefield in Chaotic Century, but Rob took it instead.

I'm not in love with the art, but it is probably intended to have more impact when you are in the presence of the massive box. The interior hangar shot, in my opinion, serves to make the Zoid look much smaller than an expansive battlefield shot could.

Actually, it's a reference to the Battle Story ( Official Fan Book 2, to be precise), where Irvine sacrifices his Command Wolf to save the "uncontrollable" Ogre and ends up becoming its pilot. And since there's only one Ogre in the Battle Story, it's a good bet that the unnamed Ogre pilot from Official Fan Book EX 1 is Irvine.

Aw, I was going to say that's sweet but then I realized the Command Wolf dies and now I'm sad. At least the ... uncontrollable ogre- has a pilot? I guess- But it's still sad.

If only the story could have made the command wolf's core could be implanted into the Gojulas somehow, slightly more challenging than taking over a Lightning Saix. Just think, It would have to learn how to walk bipedal.

He's a bit big and bulky for my taste, I prefer a fast nimble Zoid not a paperweight to hold the Earth down.

I received mine in today from Koto's store. The exclusive customize parts for the original gojulas are in their own box, but I don't see any directions. I have yet to assemble either gojulas, so maybe it will make sense once I do so. I should probably build the Ogre first, then the original, since the CP basically just makes the original gojulas into an Ogre, just with different coloring, from what I gather.

Can anyone comment on the quality of the HMM Gojulas and OGRE kits? Are they like most HMM kits, with loose parts or design flaws, or is it more on par with the quality of Death Stinger?
I am absolutely in love with OGRE's colors (I am a huge sucker for tan and beige when it comes to military machines) so I am adding this to the top of my wishlist.
Sadly, I will have to wait a LOT of years for this one. I will need to have my own place with more space, and a good job. Buying one now would be a poor investment.
