I agree with the face not looking very intimidating. The clear parts though kinda conunter that in a creepy sense, can't help but think it looks like fleshy open wound/ exposed muscle sorta thing. Resident evil comes to mind.

The face is definitely fluffy. The head in general doesn't really seem to fit the body for some reason... It looks too small and the neck is a bit short. And I'm disappointed they didn't keep the longer spikes along the spine. While I'll probably end of up getting it, first impressions are about 50/50 for me.
Also, bubble butt.

It totally does look like a snarl. I'm Glad to see those photos now it just shows it really depends on the angles you look at it from. That straight on shot makes the saber looks hella evil. I feel like we should apologize to it for saying it doesn't look intimidating. |

The snarl is an awesome feature but something is still very off about the face design. The rest of the head looks too filled out and soft. That detail aside though it's still an awesome looking kit and I'm glad to see it appearing in other stores now. Looking forward to seeing the Masterpiece Zoids in person~

I am suspecting that animation videos might increase the interest in this kit. It don't think it's bad looking at all, just not overwhelming. It would be nice to see the Masterpiece next to the OJR for some real comparison shots.

I think it looks really great! A more faithfully chunky and smilodonesque design than the HMM version for sure. The only things I don't dig are how the muzzle appears to be smashed in (the fangs actually jut forward slightly before turning downward. you shouldn't be able to use your fangs as bumpers, yknow?) and then that final shot of it where the muzzle appears to be turned downward slightly like a rat's.. no thanks. But other than that I freaking want one.

Let's see how much info on that page is new (or new-ish)...
"higher parts count than the Shield Liger"
"includes interchangeable parts to change its expression"
"designed with a realistic tiger pattern on the inside" [of the clear parts]
"includes stand and 1 figure"
No word on its motorised actions (other than a mention of "walking mode"), but I expect they'll be the same as the Shieldy.

Hmm I see now. So the snarl isn't motorized, it's a manual change? it doesn't look like actual new parts.. I do think, though, that from the front it looks alright and from the side it looks like it got into an accident.
No idea what they mean about the tiger pattern, but it's hard to see in there. Not sure why they went with clear parts anyway, but it doesn't hurt anything. And it's not like it's a tiger, guys!

I kept clicking the snarl / non snarl pics trying to figure out if it just moved or interchangeable. lol I know now it's interchangeable . Honestly though I think those pics do it Justice. It has quickly grown on me, Enough to make me decide to Pre-order one. Mine will be permanent snarl face. The other zoids will surely be cautious of the grumpy new family member.

The clear parts are because an internal light will blink to show the core 'heart beat' iirc? Could be wrong on that. If so that means its butt will light up when it walks, which is giving me so much amusement. At any rate, some production sketches from twitter~ |
