I haven't cracked the lenses on any of my 3 (both Raven versions and Psycho Geno) but I've heard from many, many people who have. They were very fragile though, and it's pretty darn hard to get the angles to line up just right for them to actually go in. When I was assembling mine I tried to press only lightly around the holes to kinda nudge them into place, but definitely be careful not to apply pressure across the whole lense, because a lot of it is unsupported and it's VERY thin.

So... since I've gotten back into building zoids model kits, I want to find some of the older HMM's I really like (in particular, the HMM Gojulas Ogre and HMM Fire Fox). The only problem is that HLJ and AmiAmi no longer have those kits in stock, which kind of forces me to look to ebay since I don't know of any other reputable online sites that may carry them.
Hence my questions.
1. How do I tell if an ebay seller is selling the kit I want at a fair price, or if they're price gouging? I have to ask because I looked for listings of the HMM Gojulas Ogre on ebay today, and the prices I saw were all insanely high, to put it lightly.
2. How do I tell is an ebay seller is reputable, or if they're a scammer who's gonna take my money and run, or send me a bootleg?
3. What are some reputable ebay sellers I could go to, as well as reputable sites other than AmiAmi and HLJ I might be able to buy HMM zoids from?

1. There's been a lot of deceitful price gouging lately, and I made a very lengthy post about it here, so I understand your frustrations. If you're looking into buying internationally, I've got another lengthy guide for that over here, which may seem a bit much at first, but that's just because I try to answer any question that might come up about purchasing from overseas. Buying through a deputy service looks way more intimidating than it is. You'll get used to using them quickly. 2. Ebay and Paypal are so buyer biased that in both of these scenarios I think you'd have no problem getting a refund. Bootlegs are against Ebay's ToU. They still get through, but you'd probably get a positive result via dispute if you needed to do so. That being said, watch out for boxes that have "BT" or "STK" on the box instead of Kotobukiya/HMM logos. There aren't very many HMMs bootlegged, but the ones that are, will always have these logos on the box. Avoid buying auctions without pictures of the box if you want to be sure. 2.b I covered this a little in the price gauge rant, but while it's possible to lose big on an item when buying overseas, and your liability is much higher (with little buyer protection), if you plan to buy a good few kits, you'll still save more than you've lost compared to going through Ebay. The difference between Ebay and YJ prices is really that much. It's quite rare to have such major issues, though. Out of hundreds of items I've only really been screwed once or twice. 3. AmazonJP is a good alternative. You need to create a new/separate Amazon account (and no, prime free/2day shipping doesn't apply), but you can use your US issued credit/debit card. AmazonJP is often a couple bucks higher than competitors, but its shipping is usually a lot cheaper in my experience. Hobby Search is more expensive than competitors, but because of that, you'll also sometimes find items stocked there that've been out of stock in other stores for a while.

What exactly is the intended purpose of the HMM Cannon & Buster Tortoise shells that open and close? Are those doors for soldiers? Smaller zoids/vehicles? Core maintenance (the core is RIGHT in there I imagine it gets very hot)

They are for soldiers or cargo; much like the Bradly fighting vehicle that is basically a combination APC/wheeled tank.

A card from Zoids Wild Battle Card Hunter of the Legendary Rare Geno Breaker. I wouldn't pay that much for any BCH card though... Even the secret rares with the limited concept art have fallen below that price.
