Oh, a few more things (some of these are from Ashley Ardis's Twitter): - There's a login bonus of 10 Zoid Gold, which is helpful - Selling Zoids (the red button on their status screen) gives you Energy rather than Zoid Gold, which is less helpful - There are only three mission ranks (B, A and S) and they don't appear to do anything so far (maybe there's going to be more achievements later) - If you really don't like your starting Zoid, you can uninstall/reinstall (even just resetting might work) until you get a different one - You can get Zoids as random drops too, although I haven't seen any yet (apparently Ashley got at least 6 Gustavs ) - Random drops seem to improve on later levels, and drop locations for coloured Material seem to be fairly constant (still no sign of the higher-level Material, though) * Greennium: right-hand Molga at the end of Eihwaz 8 * Bluenium: central Molga at the end of Feoh 8, right-hand side 2/3 of the way through Jara 8 * Rednium: after jumping over the cliff in Feoh 8, two Molgas behind rocks near the middle of Gyfu 8 Also, a question for those with fancier Zoids (e.g. Shieldy) - do they show you all the possible evolutions from the start, or do more show up as you evolve them? Because my Molga only seems to have two branches, with a total of four variants (not counting the starter type), which seems rather limited.

One, Two, Freddy's Coming For YouRandom question, on the screen before missions with the little slidey arrow things, do these actually do anything or is it just a loading screen? I'm also curious of the special boost works in boss battles? No matter how long I hold it down it doesn't seem to do any damage to them. My Command Wolf has a bunch of evolutions. The first evolution also does not count towards the evolution achievement. I'm only five levels in but honestly didn't keep track of what showed up when / if the alternates were unlocked at all. My Molga hasn't received any extra evolutions, also showing only 4. Link

The first evolution also does not count towards the evolution achievement. I'm only five levels in but honestly didn't keep track of what showed up when / if the alternates were unlocked at all. My Molga hasn't received any extra evolutions, also showing only 4. Link The little arrows choose which stage of an island you go to. It'll say Ansur 3 or 4 at the bottom. Can't change levels if you have to re-capture the island. The SP attack on boss battle is really weird; it does the damage ahead of the actual on-screen hit. Oh, and how much damage it inflicts depends on accuracy, not how long you hold the button, found that out last night. So you can predict how good a shot the attack was by how much damage it does even before the thing even hits the boss on screen. Oh and as for your pre-registration; apparently they had a bit of trouble sending all the codes out (?) so you might have to contact them to get it again. Didn't show up for me either, but I think that was just a silly mistake on my part when I used my US based gmail. I'm assuming you already evolved your Zoid to level 2 back on the first island, while the game is showing you how everything works (that's the one that only requires 1 Zoidonium ore, for Molga at least). Later evolutions need certain amounts of the correct Materials (it looks as though you can buy Zoidonium with Zoid Gold, but not Rednium) and the Zoid has to be above a certain level. If you've met the requirements, you should be able to click your evolution of choice to bring up its stats screen, then click the greenish button on the left to evolve it. - New Zoids go to your Present box, not your hangar. If you leave them in the Present box for more than a month, they'll be deleted. - Remember to check the Achievements screen every so often to claim any rewards you might have unlocked. Feel free to ask if there's other stuff you're unsure about, but note that I've only finished 3 islands and I'll need to focus on uni work rather than games for a while... Haven't evolved Liger actually. It came with the cannon (which is the first of three evolution paths to choose) from the wheel. There's 2 evolutions below that only require Zoidonium and a level (I'm high enough for 1 o but not the other) requirement but the greenish button isn't letting me click it. Turns out once you choose an evolution path, you're stuck going along that chain to the right direction. Liger had 3 to "start" and I got the long-barrel cannon one. I did manage to sell my second Zoid (Tortoise) by accident though, and before I got it screenshots of its evolution map too :/ Say, how do get more Zoids Gold in-game anyway? I've only earned 200-something so far from the achievements and it is waaay more than that to evolve a Zoid later on. Can you sell stuff at all?Scratch that too; it's only achievements and actual money that'll rake in the gold. Pre-registration got 3,000 (or more?) gold on top the Tiger so that woulda been pretty handy. Easy to understand why there's so many negative reviews now. The limit of only 2 Boss* Zoids is horrifically low even for a free game and 9 free-access areas isn't great either. The Zoids Gold-prices for upgrading is probably the main culprit though. Most of the free mobile games (including big hits in Japan that are popular enough over there to have analytics and test marketing done here) do have a premium/payment currency but when it comes to 'character' upgrades, there's usually 3-4 daily achievements plus an active (as in you can actuallly interact with friends) social aspect that will earn a bit premium currency too. Short of the pre-reg bonus, Material Hunters' launch week is very much on the pay-to-win side of things. Also, Material Hunters launched against some stiff competition in Japan's free-game category which probably didn't help the rating either. *Yellow Molga isn't a boss like Ultrasaurus or the Triceratops, it's a semi-rare enemy in the normal levels. Killing 10 gets an achievement plus they seem to have a decent drop rate.

So you can predict how good a shot the attack was by how much damage it does even before the thing even hits the boss on screen. This is where I'm getting confused. When you attack an enemy continuously the HP bar goes down, leaving a red shadow to reflect how much damage you've done with that particular sequence of attacks. When you stop shooting, the red drains out. On boss battles, when using the SP attack, no additional damage is done. The red shadow (already inflicted damage by my weapons) drains out, but nothing extra beyond my standard attack is dealt. So far as I can tell, the red damage done is 100% my bullets. There's no chance at all in the rate at which damage is being done from my constant gun fire, it just 'pauses' and drains with no extra HP loss. Command Wolf has a rapid-fire standard attack that basically drains HP constantly, so if there's a 'jump' in damage it's very noticeable.

Weird, the boss health goes down on mine with the SP attack while I circle around for a physical attack. That or I'm somehow commanding my allies to actually shoot at the enemy instead of running in the opposite direction for once. (The red drain-out is what I was talking about with the heath bar going down before the actual hit)

Were you able to find some of the rarer ores in later areas?

Yes. They aren't as common as the Ore but the Zoidsnium Balls have a fair enough drop rate after Eiwaz island. And the ore locations Falcarius found were great tips, but they don't drop every runthrough? (Maybe re-runs lower the rate, or destroying foes with SP has some effect. So far I've snagged 2 Bluenium and 1 Greenium. Seen more but they show up dangerously close to rocks and firing zones which has lead to a busted kitty on more than one occasion. Rednium I have yet to survive after grabbing it)
I started screencapping evolution chain yesterday too, if you want later. The whole thing is available from the moment you get a Zoid. You can even click on them for a 360 color preview.

That's good to know! And yeah, I could definitely use the evolution chain screencaps for anything besides Molga and Command Wolf.
Today I am having a big problem with Bluestacks. The screen will be black and only occasionally (every few seconds) will flash what's supposta be there, like it's constantly refreshing or something. This makes the emulator completely unplayable. Any idea what's wrong with it or how to fix it?

Pandos sighting! Sorry about the size but I got real excited when the little guy came in as support to re-take an island. PANDOS ROLLS UP INTO A BALL WHEN DASHING, IT'S SO FREAKING CUTE!

G-cluster is giving away 100 of their consoles, and all you need to do is enter your email address here before noon on the 21st (less than 16 hours from now)! As with the Iron Kong campaign, you'll need a Japanese shipping address if you do happen to win, but it never says you have to be living in Japan They're also having another event, although this time it's just to get Materials. Defeat the most blue Molgas between noon on the 21st and noon on the 22nd to win: 1~100: 30 each of Rednium ore, Greennium ore and Bluenium ore 101~250: 15 each 251~500: 10 each 501~1000: 5 each 1001~3000: 1 each For those who aren't playing but want to see what it's like (and hear the music), there's a fairly comprehensive Youtube video here. (Oh, and when I was poking around on the website, I found a picture of Purplenium - maybe we'll be getting more Material types in the future?) Pandos sighting! Sorry about the size but I got real excited when the little guy came in as support to re-take an island. PANDOS ROLLS UP INTO A BALL WHEN DASHING, IT'S SO FREAKING CUTE! Nice work finding one - as far as I know, there's still only ten people who have one! Interesting that they're bringing the NJR CPs (Attack Boosters, Jager boosters, Wolverine claws from CP-24) into the mainly OJR-based Concept Art universe. Then again, the Original series was NJR-based as well... On boss battles, when using the SP attack, no additional damage is done. The red shadow (already inflicted damage by my weapons) drains out, but nothing extra beyond my standard attack is dealt. So far as I can tell, the red damage done is 100% my bullets. Command Wolf has a rapid-fire standard attack that basically drains HP constantly, so if there's a 'jump' in damage it's very noticeable. Just to be absolutely sure, you are triggering the "support Zoids flash up on screen" + "lasers all over the place" effects, right? (Also it has pretty horrible accuracy against Triceratops because it keeps lunging.) Haven't evolved Liger actually. It came with the cannon (which is the first of three evolution paths to choose) from the wheel. That's interesting, I would have expected all the starter Zoids to be in their base forms. Say, how do get more Zoids Gold in-game anyway? I've only earned 200-something so far from the achievements and it is waaay more than that to evolve a Zoid later on. Can you sell stuff at all?Scratch that too; it's only achievements and actual money that'll rake in the gold. Short of the pre-reg bonus, Material Hunters' launch week is very much on the pay-to-win side of things. Pretty sure you don't need any Zoid Gold for any of the evolutions, it's just to buy more Zoidonium if you don't have enough. The hangar expansions (and any Zoids that don't randomly drop) seem to be the only things that absolutely require Zoid Gold. And practically any game with a premium currency will end up being pay-to-win - at least Material Hunters has players (or at least their Zoids) supporting each other instead of fighting... Yes. They aren't as common as the Ore but the Zoidsnium Balls have a fair enough drop rate after Eiwaz island. And the ore locations Falcarius found were great tips, but they don't drop every runthrough? You can even click on them for a 360 color preview. Good to know. My eventual goal will probably be clearing all Smart Ocean islands + one of each Zoid species (since I can see all their evolutions from the start) + as many achievements as I can get. Shouldn't be too hard (except Pandos), just time-consuming. (Oh, and I think you can use your melee attack to break obstacles, if that helps with the Rednium?) One more question for now: is everyone getting English text for the island names and achievements? Because the website shows them as Japanese, and people on Twitter are using the Japanese island names. Maybe the app checks what language your device is set to?

Yeah. It's on the Triceratops, but I usually wait until he starts spinning in a very slow circle to fire, so the attack is rarely launched when he's lunging. He's usually stationary, so is it just ... every shot missing a still target? This wouldn't really surprise me, but yeah, out of the dozens of times I've used it there's been no noticeable damage at all.
I'm also getting English names on the Achievements and stuff
Is there a method to using melee or is it just when you get right up to an object?

Physical attacks on rocks (the small ones NOT the giant ones on the volcano island) have to be straight-forward swipes. If you're going too slow or dashing sideways it'll still hurt. Seems can use the physical attack to destroy multiple rocks that are lined up in a row, but you have to have quick swipes depending on how close the rocks are together.
For Bosses it's also a close-up forward-swipe to do a physical but it's been a bit buggy. The Boss Zoid has to be near the center of the screen for one, otherwise it it may register as a dash going past/right underneath the Boss. You also have to be moving your Zoid towards the big guy for the best results; while circling around sometimes it'll register the physical attack, other times it'll just change directions. Finally, when the Boss is about to unleash an SP, your Zoid won't do a physical attack.
Just as a tip for Triceratops, shooting its side and rear will do a little more damage than attacking its face. Not that you want to be in front of it anyway. Physical attacks on its tail do the most damage (or Liger's physical is just more effective than gunning) plus there's no damage taken if your Zoid dashes underneath the rear instead of attacking.
Anyone know what the glowy-purple-guns mean?

I notice sometimes Zoidnium glows purple when it drops, and sometimes it doesn't. What does this indicate?
Also, does anyone have the Email / whatever we're supposed to contact them about lost pre-registration bonuses, if there is one?

Don't know about the purple-glow Zoidnium (or the glowy guns still) but for contacting them about the pre-registration my guess would be their general support e-mail? Can't seem to copy-paste too well but under the little i icon the fifth subsection has a path to the support information page. The fourth subsection is a link that might be the contact form mentioned Here
So the pattern thus far for enemies re-taking islands is pretty simple. When you conquer one island, the one directly behind that will be enemy-claimed once again. Haven't 'lost' islands any other way. It seems Yarra (last one) has some sort of restriction? I have enough orange energy to play its first level but the game keeps turning Liger back around with a message of some sort. Gonna be stuck if it has something to do with evolving my Zoid more. Edit: For Triceratops on Hagar physical attacks did next to nothing so forget about staying close to the tail; just shoot the thing.
Also, Tiger booty
