Yeah, I'm stuck on a device with 16gb internal storage because Samsung, and most of that is eaten by a couple games and...a...lot...of art apps (and a few more I need to get), and the SD card has other stuff. That doesn't sound as ridiculous as some games (looking at you EA), so I'll have to see later if I can cram it on. And then be way behind everyone, hah.

This weekend's "training" mission is Iron Kongs, from 00:01 24/10 to 23:59 25/10. No ranking rewards this time, although there's still rewards for total number of Kongs defeated. Also, Iron Kong and Toy Version Shieldy will be in the Roulette again from 00:01 24/10 to 23:59 30/10.
EDIT: G-cluster has announced that Battlenium, a new type of Material exclusive to Battle Mode, will be added to the game soon. (As a side note, Jackpot Island hasn't been mentioned on their Twitter since 28/9, so I'm not sure if it's still running.)
EDIT2: Shield Liger White and Emerald will be in the Roulette from 00:01 31/10 to 23:59 6/11, and the Shieldy evolution trees have been extended to include Battlenium-based evolutions. As for this weekend's training mission, we have a "Shield Liger hunt" from 00:01 31/10 to 23:59 1/11.

Thanks, that should be handy.
This weekend, we've got another recolour, and this time it's not a Shieldy! Iron Kong Snowflake will be in the Roulette from 00:01 7/11 to 23:59 13/11, and there's a Snowflake training mission from 00:01 7/11 to 23:59 8/11. Again, there's rewards for number of Kongs defeated but not for ranking.
EDIT: To celebrate the 6-month anniversary of Material Hunters, they're giving 5 times the login bonus (50ZG instead of 10) from 14:00 12/11 to 16:00 17/12 (i.e. the next 5 weeks).
EDIT2: This weekend's training mission is Dark Horns (00:01 14/11 to 23:59 15/11), with rewards for enemies defeated but not for ranking. Dark Horn is also back in the Roulette from 00:01 14/11 to 23:59 20/11.
EDIT3: I'm back in! It even kept my save file this time, which is nice. As for this week's updates, they've added black and red Saber Tiger recolours - 00:01 21/11 to 23:59 22/11 as training mission enemies, and 00:01 21/11 to 23:59 27/11 in the Roulette.
EDIT4: Another Shield Liger/White/Emerald training mission with ranking rewards from 00:01 28/11 to 23:59 29/11, and various white Zoids (White Tiger, White Shieldy and Kong Snowflake) in the Roulette from 00:01 28/11 to 23:59 04/12.

So much Zoids gold gone trying to get that Black Saber last week. Falcarius, how does the Cloud Viewer work? I'm really curious to see the in-game english names of those islands... and I sorta want to upgrade some Zoids requiring Cloud Ocean materials too.

I haven't tested out the Cloud Viewer yet, but in theory, you start up the viewer on one device (the "screen") and the game on another (the "controller"), then tap on the Cloud Ocean ribbon on the main game screen to get a code that you can enter into the Cloud Viewer to connect them. You can actually earn nearly all of the Materials as event rewards if necessary, although it would be painfully slow. We're getting another new(ish) Zoid this weekend: Red Horn. I'm not sure the Horns really needed to be separate Zoids instead of recolours, considering the weapons probably follow the same Strengthening paths, but never mind. As usual, Red Horns will be enemies in a training event from 00:01 5/12 to 23:59 6/12, and available in the Roulette from 00:01 5/12 to 23:59 11/12. Registered Name: Red HornSpeed: 130km/h max speed Item: Large-Calibre 3-Barrelled Electromagnetic Assault Gun, Close Combat Beam Guns etc. Size: 20.8m length, 7.6m height, 7.2m width, 94t weight Capacity: 3 people Motif: Styracosaurus A large-scale Styracosaurus-type Zoid for assault battles, with the nickname "Moving Fortress". With its heavy armour, the Crusher Horn on its head, and the firearms arranged all over its body, it displays the most power when suppressing military positions such as fortresses. Its red body colour has the goal of intimidating enemies by daring to be conspicuous. EDIT: This weekend's training mission (00:01 12/12 to 23:59 13/12) is spiky Gustavs again, and the Roulette (00:01 12/12 to 23:59 18/12) has red Saber Tiger, Emerald Shieldy and Metal Horn. EDIT2: This weekend's training mission (00:01 19/12 to 23:59 20/12) is red and black Saber Tigers, and the Roulette (00:01 19/12 to 23:59 25/12) contains "4-star rarity machines" Dark Horn, Pandos and Ironkong. Also, the daily login bonus has been bumped up to 80ZG from 17/12 to 16:00 7/1. There's also a teaser for a major update on Christmas Eve, which promises to improve game balance, special attacks and boss appearances.

Well, the Christmas update is out, and there's quite a few new things to report. The Zoid stats now use numbers instead of a letter ranking, boss appearances have been changed, there are now multiple types of special attack, leveling up now boosts your stats, and the game balance and graphics have been tweaked. (...And there's also a giant Molga, which may or may not have been intentional.) Event-wise, instead of a single weekend one, they've got a "big release of Material" lasting from 00:01 26/12 all the way to 23:59 3/1. They've also tripled the experience you receive from Smart Ocean missions at 12:00~14:00 and 20:00~22:00 from 24/12 onwards. The Roulette, meanwhile, has 5-star rarity machines swapping out every 2 days from 00:01 26/12 to 23:59 8/1, including the new recolour Ironkong Forest Drum. Hopefully with the 80ZG login bonus I'll be able to snag something interesting...

Some additions to the above.
Level capping has been shifted. With increasing "upgrades" on Zoids the MAX level increases too. So a fully upgraded Zoid has now 160 MAX level.
Be careful if you never touched your Zoids up to this update. The "game balance tweaks" should be more correctly named "nerfing everything". If your weapons before the update managed to hit 6+ enemies in short time you will only barely hit 2 of them now. Shooting frequency is tremendously reduced as is weapon power. Your optimal build before is now most probably the worst build now. So test on the entry island first otherwise you are blasted after a couple of seconds without hitting anything.
Side note on Zoids balancing. It's quite depressing for some Zoids. I compared some Zoids against each other at same levels. For example a Sabre and Black Horn: the Sabre has 2800 HP, the Horn >4000. The Sabre has 300 ATT, the Horn >400. But what really hurts... the Sabre has 20 DEF... ... the Horn >70 (and with certain build even >110). Some Zoids seem way over-powered for the same Star-Rating while all others can not even sniff on the their exhaust pipes.

Finally got around to playing this again, and finally managed to beat the Hagalaz Island boss Just one island to go in Smart Ocean... News-wise, the login bonus is going to be 80ZG for another month (until 8/2), the weekend training event is against Molgas (9/1~10/1), and the weekly Roulette contains Red Horn, Metal Horn and Toy Shieldy (9/1~15/1). There's also another naming contest, but this time it's for a new White Tiger recolour scheduled to appear in the Roulette on the 23rd. You can send in name suggestions through the in-game question form, or follow the Material Hunters Twitter account and tweet the name (plus #マテハン) before 12:00 pm 12/1. The winner earns themselves a free White &Aqua Tiger. EDIT: This week's Roulette prize (16/1~22/1) and training enemy (16/1~17/1) are both Iron Kong Forest Drum, and the new Tiger has indeed been named White Tiger Aqua. EDIT2: We've got the White Tiger Aqua as this week's Roulette prize (23/1~29/1) and training enemy (23/1~24/1), and there's another naming contest (this time for a camo-patterned Pandos) ending 12:00 pm 26/1. EDIT3: This week's training enemy (30/1~31/1) is Molgas again, and the Roulette (30/1~5/2) includes 5-star Zoids Dark Horn, Shield Liger White and Sabre Tiger Red. Oh, and the camo Pandos has been named Pandos Krieger (probably after Maschinen Krieger, a series designed by the same guy as the 1/24 Zoids). EDIT4: And as expected, Pandos Krieger is the training enemy (6/2~7/2) and Roulette prize (6/2~12/2) this week.

This week's Roulette (13/2~19/2) includes 5-star machines Red Horn and Saber Tiger: Black, and the training enemy is once again Molgas. However, this weekend's event lasts three days (12/2~14/2) and has a couple of great bonuses to encourage new players: firstly, any new user logging in for the first time during the event gets a login bonus of 5000ZG, and secondly, anyone who clears any of the event missions (and defeats at least one Molga) gets a pre-evolved Metal Horn! Oh, and the 80ZG login bonus seems to have been extended indefinitely, which is also nice.

Haha, I was just talking about needing to get back into this game. Guess I don't have an excuse not to redownload it now! Good time to start over I suppose. For the Helcats, I had the same line of thought. They're not the first to play the dangerous game of "remember not to use bite attacks for pilot's sake."

I want to see this mouthed helcat! Soon as someone finds a screenshot or whatever
Pilots being in the mouth.. that is, would be I should say so stupid I hope they haven't done that to the helcats. It would be like going back to the dark ages of zoid technology.
