Okay, I was gonna ask Pheno this via PM, but with the Break Room now I can ask everyone: For the sake of interest, let's pit First Gundam's White Base againt Gundam SEED's Archangel The White Base has it's final MS Complement of the Gundam, Guncannon, and Guntank, plus Sayla and Sleggar in the G-Fighters (Yeah, I know it's illogical to include Sleggar, but I want a full team here). The Archangel has Kira in the Freedom Gundam, Mwu in the Strike, and, for the sake of arguement, Athrun in the Justice. (I'm not sure as to whether the Freedom and Justice were ever stationed onboard the Archangel, as SEED hasn't progressed that far yet here, but I will have the Freedom and Justice on their proper vessel, the Eternal, with their METEOR Units, Versus the Albion w/ the Dendrobium a bit later, should this prove popular) Also for the sake of debate, the Strike has all four of it's Weapon Packs, this including the Lighning Strike unit that was destroyed before it could be put to use. I personally think the Archangel would easily defeat the White Base, as pretty much one shot from the Arch's "Lohengrin" cannons could wipe out the WB before it could launch it's MS complement. What do you guys think?

Amuro is undoubtedly a better pilot than anyone on Seed but I mean cmon, this is like a horse carriage vs. an F-1 race car. White Base is ancient compared to the Archangel as is the (o.g.) Gundam compared to Freedom, Justice hell even Strike so even if the suits were launched they'd be stamped out pretty quick.

The FAZZ isn't all that great, y'know. Oh, and Kira is a hell of a better pilot than Amuro; the very least he isn't constantly whining about how he hates himself.

Have you seen all of OG Gundam, Zeta and Char's Counterattack? Amuro is a hell of a pilot who's english voice actor makes him nearly unbearable to listen too. Oh and Kira's a dummy, I don't want to spoil anything since I dunno how much of Seed you've seen but he's a bit to easy to manipulate......... *shrugs*

I said RX-78, not RX-93. Even with the best of Amuro's skills, the RX-78 couldn't stand up to the Freedom. Now it it were the RX-93, then maybe we can talk, but the RX-78 is just too underarmed compared to the Freedom.

I bought up CCA as a testament to his piloting not for the NU, I agree with your assessment, the 78 can't keep up with the Freedom (or Justice, or Strike). If you were to put Amuro in a GM and Kira in a GM (or just both in the same suit) I'm pretty sure that Amuro would win in the long run. It would probably come up to "Seed" mode vs. Newtype skills. I put my money on Amuro's huge NT abilities.........but anyway on to the topic on hand, I'll re-iterate it's no contest. Poor white base

I agree with Evoluder Guy, Amuro is a better pilot. Kira has to enter his "Seed mode" to inflict any serious damage yet Amuro destroyed two Zaku's the first time he piloted the Gundam. Lordgale you can't say RX-78-2 vs. Freedom Gundam, the Freedom was the last Gundam Kira piloted. The last Gundam Amuro piloted was the RX-93 Nu Gundam so you'd have to do Nu Gundam vs. Freedom Gundam in which case Amuro would still win. RX-78-2 vs. Strike is no contest, the Strike would win. White Base vs. Archangel is also no contest, Archangel would win. -Phenotype

I hadn't thought of that. Also, I've not yet seen the "Seed Mode" thingy, since I missed yesterday's episode. BTW, did Yzak bleed in that? From the synopsis on MAHQ I'd have to assume that he did, at least in the Japanese version.

"What? Damn them! Okay, you'll get your three Zakus." Er, I mean, Eviltoonamipeoplegrr. Don't they think we're smart enough to know that you do in fact bleed when you're slashed in the face by broken cockpit parts? Sheesh.
