Well, I'm not the most informed person about Zoids, but heck, this sounds like another one of those dodgy ploys to get people to buy DVD's at a stupidly high price by throwing in a limited edition model (which they'll probably keep re-issuing just to sell more DVD's)...

Yes, I tend to be overly negative. To be honest, the Genesis model line has given me a lot to be negative about.
Don't get me wrong. I appreciate the fact that we've gotten some gorgous reissues out of the Genesis line, especially those that hadn't been redone so far. I really like the Houndsoldier and Gildragon and, gosh darn it, if the Cannonfort isnt a thing of beauty that makes me weep manly tears of joy.
That doesn;t mean I have to like all the directions the model line has been taken in; the pre-built Zoids, the Bio Zoids... they're not things I'm too fond of. Likewise, I have not been to fond of a lot of the decisions made regarding the anime. Maybe I've been a bit vocal in expresisng it. I'm allowed to. Last I saw, there was no law afginst it on this board.
That being said, it should be pretty obvious that the Genesis model line has not been a success. The fact that we've had numerous items cancelled - the Redler, Baratz vol 2, One Blox vol 2... you don't cancel such things off a well performing toy line. Basically, Genesis winds up when Mugen lunp comes out. Yes, there are those limited edition Zoids but... that's it.
So... in short, I'm jsut saying, that's all. Don't get a beeshooter up yer bum about it. I mean, if I mouthed off everytime somebosdy was disparging aobut Fuzors, we'd never get anyhting done.

Heh, hey it's cool, I only made one comment about you being negative, I'm not upset about it, I was just making an observation. Plus I may get a little defensive because honestly I really like the Genesis line a LOT, and the Anime, I think it's the most interesting Zoids Anime yet. Yes CC/GF was damned good but I was watching it on DVD the other day and it's too damn formulatic, plus it gets so repetative hearing "Wildflowers" at the end of EVERY freaking episode, and half the time it dsoesn't even fit the mood of the scene. -Pheno

Redler wasn't cancelled, just re-assigned. And Baratz volume 2 were cancelled because they've been re-worked into funky weapon-morphing things.

Err Rick? The One Blox vol 2 were cancelled before Genesis came out o.o As an aside though, I am against pre-built zoids and I'm not fond of most of the Bio-zoids. I wanted some natural looking zoids yes but not dead sticks >_>

Redler wasn't cancelled, just re-assigned. Part of me thinks there was some sort of manufacturing issue with the Redler, let's think about this for a second. As we've seen from past experiences (Hasbro Zoids) these toys get produced months before they hit retail shelves, yet only about a month before the Redler was supposed to get released it got canned with no explanation, and then Tomy suddenly announces it as a LTD? Not to mention that they didn't re-assigned Decalto Dragon and Gildragon's ID numbers. That's because they didn't have enough time, the boxes were already printed. Something must have happened, my guess is that there was either a production error in a lot of the molds and they had to be thrown away, or something crazy happened like a fire but there's pretty much no way that they would have canned it at the last minute jsut because of poor sales, they would have already had all of them made and ready to go, something bad happened we just need to find out what. -Pheno

Intriging. Makes me want to do a bit of research. I'll see what I can find about the Genesis ReddraRedler... (yes, it's Reddra, not Redler, like the old version. )*searches up Tomy & Wikipedia for news on "Reddra Special Color"*

Any reason it's Reddra and not Redler? Unless I'm losing it they have the same spelling in kana...

レドラ = Re do ra = Reddra レドラー = Re do ra a = Redler Yeah, a small change can make a big difference. EDIT: Oh wait... *just checked what Tomy had* Bleah...nvm, forget I said anything, there is a "ー" there... <.< *burns the lil magazine clip out he had*

As a side note, I prefer "Reddra", as it makes more sense. Red dragon...
Of course, Redler isn't red. But neither are some Red Horn limiteds...

Maybe they called it Reddra again for the whole issue of dragons in Genesis? They did change the name of Gilvader to Gildragon after all. And Gilvader's box still says "wivern type" on it.

No it's still called Redler. I'm just blind and missed the last character in the name, hence why I translated it wrong.
