Actually, Genesis Vols 2 and 3 sold like mad when they were released in the last few months or so. Those were so damn good episodes, so yeah. I checked on sales not too long ago on a link from a japanese fansite.
And of course, the Box sets are either for those who haven't gotten Vol1-4 yet or just want the limited Clear Holotechs and then they can give the DVD's to others for xmas or so.
Forgot to mention the DVD's are obviously region locked.
Bio Megaraptor Clear Holotech sounds interesting though. Gotta wait till June though.

Ah come on. The tyoy sales are in the toilet, especially the Bio Zoids. I can;'t see a DVD set doing any better. Viewer percentage is over 4% so enough money is made off commercials anyway. In comparison, this is better then both NCO and Fuzors. I can't find the viewer ratings for CC/GF though. Model sales are just a bonus now. Viewer ratings as good as Genesis mean that the DVDs are almost guranteed to do good. Then of course, there's the fact that they're going for at least 50 episodes. If they were not making sufficient funds from both viewer ratings and model sales then the show would have been cut like so many before it have. I highly doubt that the model line is doing as bad as you say...

I haven't heard anything about the model kits selling poorly, they had enough money to reissue Gilvader so they must not be doing that bad. I swear DB, you get more negative with each passing month... -Pheno

I can't say I entirely blame him, given how I've been feeling rather out of touch with the fandom and the current line too.
But hey, I've got years worth of old stuff to poke at and read and explore, I'm good.

There were for places to buy Genesis DVD's vol 1-4 all over the place. Avex Group is one place where you can buy them although they're often sold out cause of high demand. Each Volume comes with 5 episodes and a Itou Youkadou card, whoever that is. (Vol1 is Murassame Liger, Vol2 is Sword Wolf, Vol3 is Lancetag, and Vol4 is Rainbow Jerk I believe.)
Also, there is supposedly 54-56 episodes. Makes sense too.

Sooo much negativity. It's all a bit depresssing- not to mention puzzling.
Anyway, these look ok- DVDs & holo zoids in one. REgion locking's not really a prob, so the major question is, will these be available outside Japan/ with English dubbing??

Most likely not. Japanese DVDs usually don't have English subs...
I'd give you a link to a more detailed article but...
*curses as ZGO just went down for the day cause of bandwidth leechers to Jump-Ent...*
...yeah...

Oh look, I'm bashing Genesis again. I'm so evil, again.
It was an atrticle in an online toy mag (No, I don't recall which one). At any rate, it gave a quick breakdown of the sales.
The re-issued Zoids are doing well, especially Cannonfort and Houndsoldier (This article was pre-gildragon, btw). The new Zoids are doing averageish. The BioZoids are doing very, very poorly.
But, of ocurse, since I don't like the Genesis anime I must be both overy negative and overly biassed. Obviously.

Dude, you bash everything from Genesis aside from a few of the reissues. It's not just the fact that you don't like the Anime or many of the new kits, it's the fact that you're so adamant and so vocal about it. I hated the Fuzors line and I wasn't nearly as negative about that, at least with Genesis we're actually getting new kits. I didn't mean to come down on you bro but sometimes it is like "Oh look, Rick's bashing Genesis again..." and it gets a little old. -Pheno

Yeah, neither Genesis nor Fuzors have been my fave either. I'd love a return to the more model-like Helic/Guylos/Zenevas stuff to be brutally honest as some of the Genesis are definately more toy-like in appearance as were the more brightly coloured FZs but I'd rathter have either Genesis or Fuzors than no Zoids at all,l and it's definielty a posistive experince on the whole is FZ& GB in the grand scheme of things. AND by any standards I do really like the Bios, I think they are wicked.
Anyway, back on topic. No point in getting DVDs I don't understand if they are available in English, despite the presence of Ltds. (Had they been Bloody Deathsaurers or something, that may have been another matter I'll certainly concede that....)
