I've been snagging these things wherever I find them, the US CC manga that's written and illustrated by Michiro Ueyama. Does anyone know how many there are? Other than a missing volume 7 I'm up to volume 13...

Hrm...I honestly can't remember if there's 13 or 14...where's your 13 leave off at?
I bought the Japanese ones, which tell the same story in 5 volumes. As far as I can tell, there wasn't any major censoring...other than "Lucifer Blade!" to "Blade of the Fallen Angel of Light!"...bleah.

Volume 13 ended with Van and company arriving at Solelle Mountain and meeting "Donnie Chen," who happened to also be known as Raven.

BIG SPOILERS LA LA LA
He's not Raven. He's his brother. And Raven's name in the manga is...not Raven. It's Joyce. As you'll find out in that whole flashback-y bit, in the manga, his parents were not killed by Ambient, but by a Zoid...one that he was piloting, and blames himself for having made go berserk...hence his wanting to get rid of them and for people to not rely on them-he doesn't want that to happen again.
Much better than the anime's handling of him, imo.
