I am making a diorama, and I don't really know how to make the actual back ground and stuff. I already got the wolf done, but the problem is the place where to put it. Any advice??? Any Examples besides Phenotype's, he only has a few.

Well, having never made a diorama myself, I cannot provide much help, but I know that Pheno makes his base for the zoids out of paper mache. Just a tip =D

I see.....I was thinking of just getting some sand and pouring it somewhere for the background?

2nd that, pink foam and then depending on what you want, paint or pva glue and sand or lil grass "sand" they sell. For a city get some maybe cardboard and pva it on, so it looks like a street.

Yes, paint the grass areas green or brown, and while the paint is wet, apply the grass flock (the grass stuff).

Warning - some types of spray paint "melt" some types of foam.
I've seen @ hobby shops rubber molds for terrain for train sets. Never done it myself, but I suppose one could use plaster or something of that nature to make a landscape from that.
