hi i'm deadguy, any ways i'd would personally stay away for awhile from glossy paint as a begining modeler due to the fact that alot of care has to beeh put into making it look flawless IMO i use flat, ultra flat and satin krylons, dutch boy, and krylon camouflage, they give a great cartoon look and are easier to hide mess ups , lighter note let the paint dry before you put back together, use primer (especially krylon camo light grey its the best in IMO)not too much 1 or 2 light coats so the paint sticks is enuff, and apply paint with nozzle facing in the direction of the model not the other way you'll go blind

may i also suggest, rading all your old toy boxes, or going to car boot sales, and look for old gi-joe (action-man if you are brittish),transformes, gundams, etc as i have found these, to be an invaluable source for weapons, and interesting body pannels. check out mine and dead guys customs as we use gundam parts quite alot. also DON'T USE SUPER GLUE, it eats paint, use model glue or what i've found is that 'pritt stick'( britts will know what i mean) then it dries, is one of the srongest glues around, plus you can paint over it

Interesting, it just so happens that I have some Gundam models that I can take apart, I never liked them lol, so at least they can have some use...

yeah man if you put it on quite thick( id suggest leaving the cap off for a couple of mins before) and leave prop up the parts so they dont slip then leave it over night then it is rock solid, remember my zaber velocity custom, well it fell down the stairs and the gun never fell off (miracle). also if you leave the cap off it goes 'gummy' an this gum is quite good for stiffening up joints, or filling gaps
