I'm planning on making a/some custom(s) that would need really small holes through the plastic - so small that no drill or dremal bit would work. Does anybody here know if using a needle and a hammer to punch through the plastic would work?

No drill? I have a drill bit set that has bits nearly as small as a needle. -Phenotype

Same, though those bits are too small to fit in my pin vise.

Oh, I have a drill - it's just the wire that I'm going to use is extreamly thin, so the holes that I need to make are extreamly small themselves. A needle is almost too thick.

try a heated needle. it`ll melt through the plastic and leave perfect holes.

Ah, fire & needles. Kinky, so long as I don't burn the house down.

The needle should work, but don't pound it into the plastic. You'll run the risk of craking it, which is not good.
