Okay, Im just wondering, but what zoid games are for PS2? Or more specifically, for the american format PS2's?

None at all. The only Zoids games that made it to America are Legacy for GBA and Battle Legends for Gamecube.

However, given how trivial it is to get japanese games to run on a US PS2, there are three games available for PS2 without much effort - Struggle, Infinity Fuzors and Tactics.
Of these three, Struggle is my favourite, and you don't need any Japanese knowledge to play the game and have fun. If you can read katakana, you can understand almost everything you need to have a lot of fun!

Uh, okay, but for Struggle or Tactics, dont I need to format my PS2 or something? Basically, how to I get those games to work?

You need a swap-disk or a modchip. The swap disk is probably the least scary way if you're new to such things: www.swapmagic3.com/
