On the tomy website, it says that Zoids Ex is the cell phone version, and it looks kinda like zoids saga, with a little vs. in it. Sorry pulse, just thought I'd bring it up.

Jeez, that looks awesome. BTW, sorry, what I said wasnt true. Zoids struggle is not Zoids EX. What I was thinking of was Zoids VS. I and E for the mobile. Sorry again, and I hope that zoids struggle comes out on Gamecube as well... me wantee! ;D

ive watched movies for both games and i must say despite the fact that zoids vs is full 3d roaming environments its graphics really are reletively dated but when i saw the vid for struggle i got excited that looks pretty damn fun if i have to ill mod my ps2 to play it....

You know, they make Cd's for the major game systems that let you play Japanese games without hacking your system. I cant find the magazine I read it in, tho. Your supposed to put the disc in, then it'll say "insert other disk"(or something like that). I seem to recall them being made predominately in Europe.

I haven't been able to find any info on Action Replays for PS2 being able to play import games after checking their site. I know mine doesn't, but it is not the latest version however. I believe the Gamecube version does though, much like the Freeloader. if anyone has any info on the AR working for PS2 import games, I'd definitely be keen to hear about it as I'd rather do that than mod.
A number of the ps2 modding sites do have a boot disk available "Swap Magic" I think, that lets you boot and then place the import game in your PS2. However, they require either a solder free modchip compatible with PS2 version 4 - 7 I think, or a slide card. I believe to use a slide card you remove the front panel of your PS2 cd drive, then use the plastic card to slide it out without pressing the open button, swap the disks, then push it back in again.
I'm thinking of trying a boot disk plus a solder free modchip on mine. Fingers crossed it'll do the job. I'm not madly keen on soldering inside my PS2, not being the world's tidiest solderer, otherwise I'd just use a full modchip!

Action replay... hmmm.... Freeloader does ring a bell though. Or maybe its blowing a whistle. or playing the drums. Smilodon, Good for you. keep that in mind, but if winds up as a dead end and you have to solder, I wouldnt do that to your PS2 witout a lot of clear, precise technical help. This is mostly because even attempting to do so will void any warantee on the thing, and you might permanently screw up your PS2. Its probably safer spending a month on the internet trying to find a disc out there somewhere.

I've seen one of these non-permanent things for PS2. Like gameshark in concept.
