There are a few things about Zoids Tactics that I want to find out.
First up is what is the game like? Am I correct in saying that it is a turn based strategy game using a grid map, while the battles take place like Fire Emblem? In other words one Zoid attacks and then the opponent gets their attack before returning to the map screen.
Do the character's have voice actors? If so would it be possible to get sound clips for Anna Tarres, Wolf and Rei Gregg?
What is the instruction book like? Does it have any pics of the characters?

I've only played the first level (five months of overtime!), but here goes... It is turn based - on your turn, you can move each of your zoids, and after moving each one, you can use an attack. The attacked enemy can use a counterattack if they are not destroyed, but it seems that using a counterattack means taking a lot more damage from the initial attack. The voice acting seems limited to a few squeals and groans from each character when they attack or get hit. The instruction book has the stock drawings that were present in Struggle and Infinity. They aren't very good.

So I take it that the Zoids Tactics character pictures on the website are in the instruction book as well?

The voice acting seems limited to a few squeals I hope you're happy. I now have a mental image of Ray Gregg charging Wolff's EL in his Liger Zero Falcon in the doomy end battle, both of them yelling "YEEEEEEEEEEEE!".

Would it be possible to check? Will check when I am home tonight (it's currently 5:50pm here, so I'm still at work). Is there any particular reason that the appearance of characters in the manual is such a factor in your decision whether to buy the game? Also, if you don't have Zoids Struggle, buy that instead. It's much more accessible, and the graphics are far nicer!

Having Battle Story characters appear in a game is cool. Beside Anna Tarres is my favourite Battle Story/Battle Card Game character.
I havent got a PS2.

So I take it that the Zoids Tactics character pictures on the website are in the instruction book as well? I checked last night, and they people from the website are not present in the manual. From memory, Van, Irvine and Moonbay have a big chunk of text and a picture of their zoids, and Prozen, Schubaltz, Fiona, Herman, Raven and one other person have small chunks of text.

Can you get a pic/scan of the Hermann bits? I'm vaguely curious which universe this is meant to be, or if it's just a collision of battle story and CC/GF. Like they needed any more colliding...

I had just enough time to take two photos. Hopefully you can salvage enough from them... Edit: Hmm, not very legible (thanks Photobucket!) - here's just Herman...

What the hey is with Wolff's hair? Someone in the Zenebas family line must have crazy blond hair genes. Elena, Wolff, Hermann-if-that-Camford-theory-is-correct...
Hermann's profile is just blah blah Repubic captain dude son of Louise stuff that I can see...
