Can somebody please help me? I am on the mission where you fight 2 Iron Kongs and an Ultrasaurus. 14A I think. I have to get the Ultra's heath down to 3000 from 7000. Im trying to get S's on evey mission to unlock everything, but this one keeps getting me stuck. For the recors, I've been using a Rayse Tiger with boosters and weapon binders. any help is appreciated

I found this mission pretty tough actually too. I completed it eventually with an S after multiple tries with the Rayse Tiger, boosters. I probably had the weapon binders equipped but I didn't use them. I focussed on using the Rayse Tiger's inbuilt gun that does a lot of damage per hit. If I recall correctly, I switched to the laser nest if that depleted. At the start I ran in towards the Ultrasaurus and then fired the booster when the Iron Kongs started to fire at me in order to run past them. After that I tried to keep the Ultrasaurus between me and the Iron Kongs ( those missiles are a -pain- ) and running back and forth to make it hard for the Ultrasaurus to hit me, turning my nose in to shoot, then changing direction to repeat ( if that makes any sense whatsoever ). I tried to use the booster in short runs when possible to help avoid the missiles, although one solid hit if I didn't have the greatest luck generally seemed to put paid to my chances of an S. I seriously think this took me in excess of 10 attempts though. Maybe considerably more. I do reMember finding it a bit frustrating!

I haven't played this one yet, but in a previous game I remember you can trick it into doing its physical attack. That not only stops it from shooting at you properly but can take out its partners if you run away at the last minute

I'm actually stuck on it in Normal mode (passed it easily enough on Easy o.o). With this Ultra, the tricking it into doing it's physical attack doesn't work too well as it can attack when doing it, firing it's missiles or it's massive cannons which can knock off a huge chunk of your health.
It's the manouver missiles that get me. They're FAR too manouverable and can hit me even when I'm dodging.
As for my firing, I use the Laser Nest as it's rather powerful. Beating out most semi-automatics for sheer power. Someshere around400-600 or so power from memory. It has a small ammunition store at only 40 but I'm generally dead before I use up all my shots.
Speaking of VS III, how does one unlock certain things in the course of the game? I'm fairly certain I have all of the pilots and zoids but I can't tell for sure as I've done all my VS III stuff by myself without the aid of any guide.
What makes me suspect that I haven't unlocked everything is the fact that there are no Ultra Zs and I think the Rayse Tiger "you" use at the final stage of the "Video Game Saga" Battle mode is a "Special" as I think there was a RS or something after it's name. Not sure though. This leads me to the conclusion that either I haven't unlocked everything or that the game lacks Ultra Zs and I'm *Watch your language!*.
EDIT: Oh yeah, does anyone know how you get to the "A" variants of the later missions? The furthest A variant I've gotten was taking on the Elephanders at night but after that I'm stuck on the B variants.

there are no ultra Z's in VS. III, unless you use an action replay...
Thanks for the ideas, gonna go try em' out as soon as I can, cuz I want to earn that Death Stinger ZS

There are Ultra Z's in the game. 3 in fact, but you have to get all "S" rank in every mission in mission mode.
If this is the mission I think it is then just use a sniping Zoid equipped with a shield and when the mission starts enter snipe mode and take aim. Only fire when you know the shot will hit. 6 or 7 good shots and the missions is done before the Kong's get close. If shots do get to close then use the shield.

Okay, so does anyone have a list of what is unlocked by what conditions? Also, can anyone tell me how to get those last few missions?
Not that I'm complaining about the Whale King one with the Brastle. More often than not I find it jumps off the Whale King all on it's lonesome.

The whale king one is tough. Took me a good 5 times to beat it with an S rank. I rty to knock the other zoid off the whale king then I hit and run the tiger. It's really tough. I don't even remember how I did it.
The last mission is a REAL pain in the ass.

I pretty much won all my battles by fluke... ; You know, what with it being Japanese and all...

What does it being Japanese have to do with your ability to learn how to play the game? I had most of the controls down pat after the second battles.
Anyway, I found a really cheap way of beating the Ultrasaurus and though it won't neccessarily get you an S-class ranking, it does keep you on high health. Just keep running into the Ultrasaurus, the damage you take from this is insignificant and while you're knocked down you can't take any damage. Time your "suicide" runs well and you shouldn't take any additional damage at all.

The game gives you advice and lets you know what the objective is, if you couldn't understand it you'd have a slight disadvantage

It's really not that hard to figure out what to do. For the most part it's just "blow up enemy zoid".
The only missions I can think of with specific... specifics are: -Mission with two Sinkers and the Lightning Saix. Take out the Sinkers, Saix is optional -Mission with two Saber Tigers and Genobreaker. Take out Fangs, DON'T take out Genobreaker -Mission with the four groups of four pillars. Destroy structures (I don't know if you're not allowed to take out the enemy zoids but being that all but the Lord Gale/Berserk Fuhrer respawn it's much easier to just ignore them and take out the structures) -Mission with the Hover Cargo, Brachiosaurer, Missile?/Buster? Tortoise and Zabat. Destroy enemy zoids without letting them destroy your Hovercargo. -The other hovercargo mission, destroy enemy zoids along with hovercargo -Ultrasaurus/Mad Thunder mission. Lower ultra large zoid's HP to roughly 3000. Defeat of "escorts" not required.
That's all I can think of for now but if you're stuck on mission objectives, check the map and mull over things for a while. Failing that, just ask us for help.
