As part of the 2007 Pheno racing contest, I decided to create several stories for this custom. I also asked Lionel for an OER storyline.

Paws was design by Zunder on the Blue Moon, with the purpose to match with the fastest of the Blue Zoid : Tank. Yes, Tank was still produced on Zoidstar, because, even if he was an old Zoid, he was still possible to be useful with his high speed. And Krark army didn't have a Zoid matching in speed with him (The number of Serpent was decreasing a lot, and it was no longer produced). Pocket Liger was a try to counterattack Tank, and was a success, because he managed to destroy all the Tank he encountered. But, Zunder was unaware that another Zoid was as fast, and more powerful : Zabre. Pocket Liger didn't stand a chance against him and was destroyed during their sole confrontation. But the try was good, a Red Zoid was able to match with Tank.

The Empire was able to succesfully deploy the LZ and started to mass produce the armor and parts. There was an abundance of these, and the factory decided to test them out on other available zoids. The Helcat came across as a good candidate to use the boosters since it needed the additional speed to keep up with the newer larger zoids, and was already a very nimble. Initial testing showed an excess of 1000 km/h but it started to melt with the excess heat. The armor was added to prevent this, thereby causing further drag. The tail weapon and front claws were added to keep up with the attack ability of a real LZ. Inverting the stabilizers, adds a small amount of lift and now the zoid could hover and travel over water.
During the unveiling of the Pocket Liger, Republic forces attacked the factory and they were forced to escape. Not allowing any technolgy to be stolen, a self destruct sequence was activated before they left. During their retreat many miles away, the Empire forces noticed that the factory remained intact and concluded that the Republic was able to stop the automatic destruct sequence. It was decided that someone had to do this manually and volunteers were asked.
This was a suicide mission, and only Jackie the Pocket Liger pilot knew that she alone could do this. The factory is heavily surrounded with republic forces and only a very fast and nimble zoid could run this obstacle death maze to reach the manual override in the heart of the factory. Running and dodging a horde of zoids, Jackie was able to reach her destination and cause the destruction of the factory as well as all the republic zoids in the vicinity.

Seijurou comes to a village in the mountains for reflection and meditation. Here he discovers one of his old training zoids, a Helcat before he came to use his Soul Tiger. He is reminded of the nimbleness and agility of this small zoid, and reMembers the precision of its reflexes. During his stay, he learns that the villages are under constant threat of Bio-Zoids run by thieves who plunder and pillage then retreating back into their concealed fortress.
He sees this first hand, and during a raid his Soul Tiger was damaged in an attack. A village leader requests that Seijurou aids them by getting rid of the bandits. He says that until his zoids is fixed, he wouldn't be able to help them. To his surprise, the village mechanics showed him the upgrades that they made to the Helcat in honor of his Soul Tiger. Front enlarged claws were added, as well as armor and a booster pack. They dubbed this the "Soul Cat".
Getting details from the village scouts, a battle plan is made. The thieves lair is hidden inside a mountain whose cave entrance is covered with a thick jungle. Traps are placed throughout this jungle as well as inside the cave. Here, a Bio Tyranno is piloted by the leader, and the pack will surely fall once this threat has been eliminated.
Going out to the edge of the woods, Seijurou taunts the Bio-Zoid guards and leads them out to the open field and desert. When they are several hundreds of miles away, he bursts out of the battle leaving them in his dust as he races to the lair. In the thick jungle, the Soul Cat leaps and dodges through traps and several drones, while trying to squeeze in the tight spaces it can get in. Reaching the entrance, it made q quick kill on a few of the Bio-Zoid mega raptors to come face to face with their leader in the Bio-Tyranno.
The fight would have been brutal with his regular soul tiger, but with the speed and small size of the Soul cat, the Bio Tyranno could hardly make a hit. Like a seasoned chef, he slices the zoids piece by piece to the dismay and amazement of the Bio Zoids that finally made it back to their lair. With one final head slice, the Bio Tyranno is defeated and the rest of the pack flee and was dispersed throughout planet Zi.

Mr. LZ Panzer and Mrs. LZ Jaeger were expecting a nice litter of kitties. After the mini zoidscores hatched, they saw a good number of mini wild LZs. One however was scrawny and weak looking. They called this small one the runt. Everyday while the rest of the litter grew larger and stronger, the runt hardly grew at all. Some of the kitties started to develop they own personalities. A couple remained as LZs, but one grew to be a small LZ Panzer and another one as an LZ Jaeger. There was another one who started to become an LZ schneider. These three were the favorite of the parents, and soon the others tried to develop specialties as well. One took a falcon, and the other took a phoenix to fuse with. The runt unable to develop anything, took the left off armor dropped by the two fuzors. Still, he was still very small and wasn't very powerful.
His siblings teased him for being so weak, so he eventually ran away in the desert. Here, he discovered his talent for speed. A very useful one especially with the much larger zoids out there willing tear him up. He also saw that he with he can hover with enough thrust. This is a good ability for crossing bodies of water. During his stay, he sees an LZX all bound up in a trap set by humans trying to capture them. He decided to help him out and so he cut up the bonds holding him. Mr. LZX was grateful for the runt and decided to take him home. Mrs. LZ Empire was delighted to have a kid to take care of, for they didn't get any luck at getting one of their own.
With his new found family, he eventually got recon duty. He would go ot on patrols and soon found his old family. They wondered where he went off and asked how he survived. Introducing his old family to his new ones, both parties were surprised to see each other. They discovered that this was their long lost cousins and a grand reunion was held. With this larger group, they decided to move out and search for other "lost" Members of the family including Midori and LZ Blue.
