Okay, I've taken everyone's help into consideration (I think. n.n;). How's this?
------------------------
A small force of allied Wardick and Hammerhead zoids flitted through the warm waters off the coast of the southern continent, headed for shore. The zoid in the rear stopped. “General Hatsuko, I’ve picked something up on radar… It’s alo- my god… it’s a monster! General, it’s-” There was an explosion as highly pressurized hydrogen ripped the purple and gray coelacanth zoid to shreds.
The remaining force reversed their direction, facing the unknown enemy. General Hatsuko eyed his radar, watching for the telltale blip that would give him the enemy’s position.
There it was. General Hatsuko whirled his Hammerhead around, firing, only to see a gray-blue shape swim deeper. “What on Zi? That wasn’t any zoid I’ve seen before... What are those damned rebels working on down here?”
General Hatsuko’s Hammerhead turned to face his troops, only to see the blue-gray shape behind them. “Scatter! Move, move!”
A small charge detonated in the middle of the force. An EMP ripped through the area, rending the Wardick and Hammerhead immobile. Within three minutes, the helpless zoids were decimated.
An hour later, Ezi Elberant stood in the office of Doctor Gray, the base’s head researcher. Ezi Elberant was a woman with short, slightly spiked red-brown hair, at least, the part of that that wasn’t gathered into a short tail at the base of her head.
“Tell me, how did it go, Miss Elberant?”
“It went wonderfully, Doctor Gray. It worked just as you thought it would. It was a bit… easy.” Ezi shrugged as said the last word.
“Yes, of course. The HCS is a powerful weapon. We Izbael Renegades will overthrow the corrupt government, with our new weapon, the KZ-23. It must remain a secret from our enemies.”
Silently, a figure crept into the hangar, walking towards a covered form. The figure stopped, and bent over a computer display. Wires ran from the display to the covered form. “Here we go... just what I’ve been looking for.” The figure plugged a device into the machine, and typed a command into the keyboard.
Alarms sounded all over the island base. Ezi leapt to her feet, and raced out of her quarters, just in time to see a man run by. “Hey, what’s going on?!”
When he turned, she realized that he didn’t belong on the base. “Wait, you! Stop! I said stop!”
The man ran up to the top of the fortifications, and turned. “Too late, Izbaeli scum. I have all of your research.”
A black mosasaurus-type zoid crashed through the defense wall. The spy leapt into the Mosasledge’s cockpit. Ezi turned and ran for the hangar.
“Move, move! I need the Cannondiver!”
Technicians scrambled out of the way as Ezi sprinted for the turtle-type. “Are the weapons loaded?”
“Just the small gun.”
“Good enough!”
The small turtle-type launched out to sea and full speed. “Where’s that spy?!”
“He’s headed northeast, Miss Elberant,” came Dr.Gray’s voice over the communications system, “Shall I dispatch a squad of Diploguns?”
“No, that won’t be necessary.”
