LOL I just Read Colodie's Ray Saurer thing. Goes with it... Not purposly, of course.
The Ray Saurer continued to observe James. It seemed that it wanted to study the craft, as if it were looking for something. Then James heard the soft voice:
-Are you a Zoid pilot?
He didn’t really hear the voice with his ears; it was more like he heard it inside his head. James looked around. He couldn’t find the source of the voice, and the situation was starting to scare James. The voice was heard again, except this time it resonated with a mix of anger and annoyance:
-ARE YOU A ZOID PILOT?!
James was terrified now. He only barely managed to stutter the words:
-Y..yyy..Yes…
James kept looking around, the felt the craft fall. The Zoid dropped him and started to walk away. Quickly, James lifted the craft’s protective bubble. He pulled out the Plasma Cannon, aimed and shot at the Zoid’s back. He saw a smoking hole, followed by the echoing roar of the Ray Saurer.
-WHAT!
The Ray Saurer turned around, caught James in sight, and fired 2 shots of the wrist cannons. James quickly leaped forward, ran towards the Saurer. The Zoid anticipated this and began a run towards the young pilot. James knew that his timing would have to be perfect. The leg of the Zoid was approaching, about two more steps. NOW! James jumped and landed on top of the Saurer’s leg. This surprised the Zoid, who James knew by now, was fused with an Organoid. James climbed up the leg to where it meets the body, and, with the help of his Plasma Cannon, cut off the leg. The Zoid let out a bizarre groan, and fell. It was incapacitated, for the moment at least. But that still left James on the leg. He jumped down, and made his way to the front. He addressed the Organoid directly:
-Organoid, come out and face me. I would like to talk with you.
A shining flash was seen, and the organoid landed in front of him. It was unlike anything he had ever seen. Raptor-like in shape, yet when it moved, it seemed to melt in the air, like if it belonged there. It spoke, using telepathy again:
“You are the first human to successfully disable my Zoid. You must be a Zoid pilot. Are you high-ranking?”
To which James replied:
-You bet. I’m one of the best pilots at the…where I come from, he said. He didn’t want to remind himself of the base. He continued to observe the organoid, as it did him.
“Would you like to pilot my Zoid? I have been searching for a pilot since I found the Ray Saurer. Is that what my partner is called? It is what the humans I have frequented have said.”
-It is indeed a Ray Saurer, and I would be honoured to pilot it.
James’ hovercraft was useless now. The crash and fall had destroyed it. Any transport he could get would help. The organoid disappeared in a dazzling flash, and fused with the Saurer. James quickly hopped over to the leg, and while the organoid struggled to raise the Zoid, James worked on getting ready to reattach the leg. The Saurer quickly fell in to place, and James successfully reattached the leg. Now, he hopped down from the Zoid, and, as the Ray Saurer’s head lowered, he climbed into the cockpit. Then something struck him. As he climbed into the cockpit, he reflected on the Organoid’s intelligence. Usually, Organoids were not capable of speech, yet this one was…
-You wonder about my intelligence? Well, friend, it is a small but simple story. You see, it all began, a long, long time ago…
FLASHBACK
-Alone I sat, in that prison, surrounded by the cylinder of glass. Organoids don’t breathe, so the liquid I floated in did not bother me. Every now and again I would wake from my lapses of sleep, only to hear the men around me talking. They seemed to be talking about me and I heard many things about myself. Apparently, I was a new breed of Organoid, an evolution. I was the result of nearly ten years work. A sentient mind, Zoid-enhancing capabilities like no others before me. Realizing that my destiny was to serve in the military, doomed to an eternity of endless killing, I had to do something. I waited, deep in thought, for a week, while tests were being ran on me, while faults were being discovered and repaired.
-Then, on the day I was dubbed “Ready”, I revolted. The moment I was released from my prison, I took 5 minutes to adjust to my new functions, and I ran. The men had not expected this, and were completely unprepared. As I dashed down the halls of this amazing complex, I entered a hanger. An immense room it was, filled with many Zoids that these men, whom I found out were scientists for the military, constructed for the government. They were all amazing, but one caught my eye. It was the Ray Saurer: a new, prototype Zoid, well built, powerful, and fast. It took me a split second before I engaged in the Fuzion process. I bonded with the Zoid’s core, and immediately found that it was full of energy. Aiming it’s cannons, I blasted a whole through the wall, which let to the exterior. As I prepared to flee, I heard a man speak up. He had been the lead researcher in my development, and the last words I heard from him were:
-You will never be complete! You will never find a partner. As I left, I reflected on his words, which I could not make sense of. But, after a few weeks on the run, and a few encounters with humans, I found out what I needed was a pilot, and then I could be complete.
END FLASHBACK
-So I’m helping in your completion, eh? James asked the Organoid.
-Indeed, and I greatly appreciate it, replied the Organoid.
-Whoa, whoa, stopping here, we’re almost at the village, said James, in an orderly manner. The Ray Saurer stopped running, and marched at a slow trot. James spotted a civilian hanger close by, and decides to stop to leave the Ray Saurer, while he goes around town.
-Organoid! Come on out!
A bright flash was seen, and the Raptor Organoid was out.
-You know, I’m going to have to find a name for you, I don’t like calling you Organoid.
James studied the Organoid for a while, and then it hit him.
-Were you actually given a name? James asked.
-Well, apart from Project 22X5T69, no
-Then I know what I’ll call you. See the black and white traits on your body?
-Yes, go on…
-I’m going to call you Eclipse.
-Eclipse, I like that…
The Ray Saurer continued to observe James. It seemed that it wanted to study the craft, as if it were looking for something. Then James heard the soft voice:
