The heavy door slid open and light floored into the red lit control room. A tall, powerful, uniformed figure stepped into the doorway. Instinctively, all in the control room stood up turned to wards the door saluted and then stood to attention.
“As you were.” said the authority figure as he entered the room closely followed by two large special force guards, armed with large field rifles and a plethora of small arms, who took position ether side of the door.
“Welcome Corneal Newlands, to the control room alpha.”
“Thank you, Major, so is he ready yet?”
“Not quite. We completed a very successful series of speed and endurance tests. We are just about to conduct the second strength test, would you care to observe?”
“Yes, thank you.”
The two began to walk over toward a large window at the end of the room.
“So Major, if this is the second strength test, what was the first?”
“First we carried out the contraction test.”
“And just what does that entail?”
“Basically we squashed him, the cell he is contained in is techno-active, meaning that we can manipulate the shape and functions of the walls, so this morning we created a giant vice by, pushing the ceiling and the floor together. Of course we had to encourage him to partake in this experiment by magnetizing him to the centre of the room. The test was cut short though, because of an unexpected result.” Explained the Major as the approached a security door next to the window.
“Why what happened?”
“A mechanical failure, you see we exerted out maximum contracting force of twenty-five tonnes, unfortunately, and un-expectantly he replied with a force of around 30 tonnes, which over loaded the pneumatics, causing the ram rods to buckle slightly. So we stopped for some minor repairs.”
The major punched in a code on the control panel next to the door; he leaned for ward, letting the blue blinking laser scan his retina. The floor shook slightly, as on the other side of the door a platform emerged from the wall, high above the device below. As the balcony extended fully, the door opened as the hand rail rose up from the base of the platform. The two stepped out onto the platform. They looked over the edge.
Below, JX was suspended in the air by two high tension wires protruding from the walls, one secured to each wrist by the powerful electromagnets housed within his gauntlets, and one pillar emerging from the floor leading up to the magnetized boots used to torture him the day before.
Standing on the pillar JX knew what was going happen, he was going to be crucified. Noticing the balcony had been deployed again, JX looked upwards.
“Uh oh, numb nuts is back and oh, look he’s brought a friend.” He muttered under his breath.
“So how are we feeling now after your little display earlier today?” barked down the Major in a dominant voice as if to impress the Corneal.
“Morning gorgeous, And who is this, is this your boy friend, aww you do make a lovely couple.I’m sick of your games little man, If you want to see what I’m capable of, then just come down here yourself an I’ll show you first hand what I am capable of yo……..
“YOU INSOLENT LITTLE MAN, SHOW SOME RESPECT! IF IT WAS NOT FOR MY TEAM YOU WOULD BE WORM FOOD RIGHT NOW!, NOW ANY MORE OUTBURSTS FROM YOU, AND YOU WILL SUFFER SO MUCH MORE THAN YOU ABOUT TO RIGHT NOW. YOU WON’T BE SMILING ANY MORE!” the major storms past the Corneal, into the control room.
“START IT UP!”
“At what level do you want it set?” queried one of the operators.
“I DODN’T CARE, JUST RIPP HIM IN HALF!”
The machinery started up. The cables retracting into the walls, and the pillar began to penetrate back into the ground. With the slack gone JX’s body took up the strain. The machinery reeled in the attachments. JX could feel the bones in his body being ripped apart. Gritting his teeth he held on. His whole skeleton cracked, the noise echoing round the room, looking at his arm he could see his plates slowly being torn from one another, now he knew what his DNA went through in that tank. The pain reached levels he did no know existed. The glow in his eye began to fade once again.
“Ha ha ha, see what you get for insulting me, enjoy your suffering.”
The pain felt in JX’s body continued to rise, higher, and higher and higher, to a crescendo. Pain turned into power, his eyes burned brighter than they had ever before. Roaring JX began to fight back. His muscles bulged as he heaved against the machine.
“Sir, it is going to happen again, the winches are red lining. They can’t take it!”
“MORE POWER I WANT HIM TO SUFFER!”
The machinery fought back pulling against JX, and he in turn pulling right back. IT was an evenly matched tug of war.
“Fry him!” ordered the Major as the Corneal stood there amazed by the spectacle happening below him. An electrical current pulsed through the cables into JX. Pain once again entered his system, but this was the boost of energy he needed. The gaps between his plates began to glow. The glow intensified as he pulled even harder. JX dropped his head.
“Alright, you wanted to see what I can do! WELL HOW DO YOU LIKE THIS?”
He gave it every thing he had. With an almighty yell roar his eyes and seams ignited burning with the light of a thousand stars. The light engulfed the room as he ripped the cables out of the wall complete with the winches attached to them. The machinery tore through the walls like a chainsaw through kitchen foil.
Every one in the control room ran out onto the balcony to gaze at the chaos below. In disbelief they stared down at the explosions, sparks and flames. Suddenly one of the cables shot out of the light straight up through the bottom of the platform lodging its self in the gut of in of the on lookers. The cable pulled tight, hauling down the mortally wounded man. The others fled back into the control room. JX came blazing up the cable onto the balcony. Eyes ablaze he stood in the doorway. The two goons, who had been standing guard, stepped forward. The opened fire blasting high calibre rounds into the chest of JX. Empty shells rained from the guns as the slowly forced JX back. The bullets skimming and sparking off JX’s body only the sheer force behind the bullet drove him back. The Corneal stepped forwards grabbing a grenade from the belt of one of the guards. Pulling the pin out with his teeth, he jumped forwards hitting the door close button, whiles rolling the explosive to the feet of JX. The all scrambled to the corridor. Thud thud thud. JX hammered on the door. One of the guards peered into the room as the grenade went off. He and his cohort gingerly entered the room guns at the ready. The strafed to wards the door to examine it. It had held….just. One forced the door open while the other covered him. They peered out, down to the mess of crumpled metal, wires, and flame. They shut the door, and walked back to the corridor.
“It’s gone nothing could have survived that!” said one of the guards.
“I’m not willing to take the chance.” Proclaimed the Major, he turns and nods at his second in command. They both walk into the control room and up to a consol in the middle of the room.
The stood either end, taking their left hand and putting them onto a scanner.
“Number one please enter password” announced the computer
“Leviathan.” answered the Major
“Number two please enter password”
“Absolution.”
Thank you. Please insert keys into highlighted slots.”
Two small holes lit up on the consol, the each inserted them into the slots.
“Please turn keys on my mark. 3. 2. 1. Mark.”
They turned the keys. Vents opened in the main cell. Napalm came flooding in. Hundreds of gallons of ignited petroleum jelly filled the cell turning it into an inferno.
Leaving the room the Major approached the Corneal.
“I apologise, for the events that just happened. Honestly I have never seen anything smaller than a bracho break those cables, and….”
“You’ll get your chance to explain it all…..”
Composing himself the Corneal begins to walk away.
“When?”
“At your court marshal.”
“As you were.” said the authority figure as he entered the room closely followed by two large special force guards, armed with large field rifles and a plethora of small arms, who took position ether side of the door.
