If you have not read from the beginning, please do or else this will not make much sense.
I continued examining it tears still in my eyes. I could not believe what I was seeing. The books had said gilvaders were invented around the time humans landed on Zi and the Zoidian organizations Helic and Zenevas were still at war. It was long before the Guylos and there struggle with the republic. The opposition of the republic created enormous zoids called gilvaders that ravaged the republic. Finding one was simply unheard of. "Examine it."I said to my crew. "Yes sir."one of them mumbled, still recovering from his state of shock and paralysis. After about an hours worth of inspecting, they came to me with results. "Surprisingly enough, its in pretty good shape." came the reply from my most faithful coworker Artemis. "It is only lacking one component, the most important one..." "What might that be?" I asked him. I was very perplexed. "The zoid core."he said almost as if he was ashamed. When it came to mechanics, Artemis was brilliant. He new every part of an average zoid down to the smallest screw. "The gilvaders design is very interesting. I'm quite excited about it!" he said energetically. "Do you know what happened to the core?" I asked. "Well, it wasn't destroyed, I know that much. My guess is, it was stolen a long time ago. If the zoid core was returned, this baby would be fully functional!"Artemis yelled ecstatically. "Well, we could search for it." I reccomended. "The chances of it still being in existence are a thousand to one!"Artemis said. "Well, we'll just have to take that chance." I retorted. Artemis looked at me with a grimace. He knew that when I made up my mind, it was a done deal. "I suppose..." he said reluctantly. "Transportation won't be a problem though" he informed me. "Follow me if you please." I did as he said.
A sapphire blue stream trickled through the canyon, later down, a raging river. The sun gleamed brightly on the arid terrain. Artemis led me away from the crew, to a secluded cave. "These have been in my family for years." he chuckled. When my family was killed in the war, I relocated them to hear. Before us stood three zoids: a Gairyuki, Battle Cougar, and a Chimera Dragon. "Wow, I'm impressed you could hold out on us for so long." I said to Artemis good naturedly. "The dragon's mine though." Artemis explained to me. "I guess I'll take the battle cougar If thats all right." I said. "Perfectly" replied Artemis. The Gairyuki however, stood without a pilot. I wanted one more companion with us, so I chose a man of twenty-five by the name of Ace. He was a master pilot. At sundown, we said goodbye to the crew and said we would be back with the gilvader's zoid core. Before getting into my new zoid, the battle cougar, I took one last look at gilvader."I don't know where you came from, or how you got here, but I promise, I will get your zoid core back. Then, I will pilot you." Then, without another thought, Artemis, Ace, and I trotted of in our zoids away from the canyon, and onward to whatever lay ahead. None of us where aware of the opposition and obtacles that we would encounter, but we were ready for anything as the hunt for the core began.
That was chapter 2, and I'm planning to continue it!
