La-la-la...more violence...
The Final Battle - Pt. II
“Lets try this again” echoed the cold, emotionless voice. “And this time, stay dead.”
*Zur-Shum!*
“Huh?”
Both pilots paused and turned to see what had just crash-landed a few meters away. It was one of the strange looking bird-type Blox Zoids Hack had seen earlier, but oddly, it didn’t appear to have taken any damage nor did it have any apparent reason to just fall from the sky. The black Liger’s pilot smirked.
“You must understand now how futile this war is. The Zenevas Empire will not…”
He trailed off when he saw that Hack’s Liger Zero was beginning to shake.
“What are you doing?” he asked, sounding more amused than anything. “If you think that’s going to help, you thought wrong.”
“Help!” Hack yelled, desperately tugging on the controls and trying to ascertain and control whatever it was that was happening. In addition to the shaking, both the Liger and the crashed bird Zoid were beginning to glow a very pale blue color and the air tingled with energy.
“How pretty” the black Liger’s pilot said sarcastically. Now stop this dismal display and LET ME KILL YOU ALREADY!”
*SHRAAA-KROOM*
The bird Zoid had just exploded. No, not really exploded – it more faded away into a blinding blue light which shot up into the air like some giant firework and then began to descend, heading straight towards Hack’s Liger…
“AAAIIIIIEEEE!!!” He screamed. “Get up, you stupid Liger! Get up! GetupgetupgetupGETUP!!”
The Liger managed to drag itself a short distance before it gave an exhausted howl and collapsed to accept its fate.
“Nooo…ARGH!”
The ball of light surged into the Liger and completely enveloped it – it forced its way into every hole and every crack, shone through the cockpit glass and burned through the armor with ease - and Hack collapsed back into his seat, arms folded, more angry than afraid.
“If you’d have moved, we wouldn’t be in this mess now, would we?” he told the Liger. We could still be…” but stopped to watch in amazement as two new control panels slid in from each side of the cockpit, covered in strange new buttons.
“Huh?”
The glaring light outside the cockpit faded away and Hack gasped at what he saw. Two huge claws were now attached to his Liger’s front feet, new armor covered its body, 2 E-shield claws sprouted from its back and, incredibly, the broken leg was now fully repaired. The Liger leapt to its feet, re-charged by the new energy which coursed around its body.
“Woo-hoo!” Hack shrieked with delight. “Yeah!”
The black Zenevas Liger took a few steps back with disbelief.
“How…How did you…?” Despite the pilot’s best attempts, fear was beginning to crack through in his otherwise bland voice.
Hack pressed the only button he could now see which looked familiar - the yellow one - and the Liger leapt into the air. It brought its new claws down against the black Liger’s face with such a force that it carved three deep trenches through the thick armor and exposed and severed the wiring far beneath. The black Liger, mouth open, took a few steps backward, stopped, and began swaying drunkenly from side to side. The cockpit lights flickered and then went out, and the whole Zoid pitched forwards as its legs completely gave way. Hack smiled as he looked down at his fallen foe, then turned and returned to the battle.
