Chapter Two - Section 1
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nobody for miles, thats what Amara saw below. The bridge she was perched on the edge
of was atleast a good mile long, which connected the island of Berhama to the main continent
,Nix. Almost as quick as the fog had dropped over the area, the thunder of a million metal
feet stormed over the icy snow. As a single flake of snow fell on Amara's nose, she rose.
"It's time, Matrix," She yelled, and what had been an empty space on the brige was
now a large black and blue feline zoid. It had a long, slender frame, much like the Lightning
Saix, used by the Guylos Empire's most elite troops. But it wasn't. With a shorter build, and a thinner
frame, it was easily a meter shorter. Guns replaced where the jet intakes should be, and the gun was
replaced by two large ion boosters.
The Zoid dropped to the ground, infront of the massive Infintry of Helic Zoids, led by
two Gairyuki, each bearing the insignia of the Helic's generals.
"Halt! State your name, Affiliation, and reason for being in this facinity," A voice said, popping
up on her Zoid's communication link. The man behind it was a tall, black haired man. He had a wrinkled face,
and his hair was obviously dyed. She clicked off her zoids communication, as not to see her face.
"Respond, or prepare to be fired apon," the man said agian, starting to grow impatient.
Still, she said nothing.
"10..." the man said
Nothing.
"9..."
Nothing
"8..."
Still, nothing.
"7..."
A smile crossed her slender face.
"6... 5... 4... 3..."
Just as fast as it had dropped from the bridge, it was gone again.
"Where the..." the man was interupted by an explosion. He looked back, and a third of his Zoids were
laying limp, burning. "How the hell!"
In an instant, he was nose to nose with the long slender zoid. With a brilliant gold flash, extending from Zoid's small, yet sharp, paw, the Gairyuki fell, burning in the four long scratches left in its head.
Jason put the cup to his lips, and with a single gulp, downed a half cup of steaming coffee. Across from him sat Kaiser, and next to him sat Jamie, all still waiting on their Coffee to cool.
An eerie silence flooded the coffee house as a young girl, with long red hair, and grey eyes entered the glass door, and made the small bell above the door 'ding'. Following her was a young man with messy
yellow hair tied into a messy ponytail. His dark blue eyes scanned the area, and set his sights on Jason.
"Amara, that's Jason Hunter, isn't it," he put his hand on her shoulder, and she turned around.
"I believe so, Skorva," She turned back around and ordered her coffee, and sat down once she had the steaming cup in her hand.
He soon followed, gently tucking a handgun deeper into his baggy jeans. "Would you like the honors?" he asked, motioning Jason's way.
With a nod, she took the gun from him, and tucked it into her jacket.
"Excuse me sir, are you that famous Impirial pilot, Jason Hunter?" her usual quiet, dark self seemed to completly transform, as she took on a cheerful school girl attitude, blushing and
playing with her hair.
"Why yes I am, Whatcha' need?" He smiled, looking up at her.
"Well, Me and my friends are big fans!" She let out a fake giggle, "And, well, they'd never believe me, so can I get an autograph?" she fake-blushed lightly.
"Sure," he pulled a pen out from his pocket, "Baseball or somthing?" he laughed.
"Right here," she opened her jacket, and pulled thbe gun, and held it square to his forehead.
"Sir!" Kiowa said, saluting the injured General Shubaltz, "Report, Our forces are holding off the Republic on both the Islands of Silver Colony, and slightly inland,
at the Duo Base. But it seems to be Gunther Prozen is making more advances, He's allready takin' half of Europa, and making his advance towards this continent. "
He nodded, and with a confident voice "Send our Eisen Dragoon unit to the east, to hopefully intercept them. Any Idea on their current forces?" he looked up to the cieling.
"Sir," She tapped a control panel, and a group of small green dots appeared on radar "Their currently flying over Triangle Daras, Their close to Golden Shore," she sighed. "Shall I send out a task
force?"
"Kiowa, Get Jason Hunter on the phone,"
Jason kicked the table, smacking the gun in the air. Jamie lept forward, Tackling Amara.
"Who the hell hired you," Jason said, picking Amara up by her shirt.
She coughed, and tried to pry his hands off, with her small, feminine fingers. "His name was Shikimoko,"
"Let me go, and I'll tell you more," she gave him a sarcastic smile.
Jamie grabbed the gun, and looked at a group of people, all scared and crowded in a corner. "I'm going to have to
ask you all to leave, Imperial Police force," she flipped out a badge, and walked the people out, and locked the glass door.
"Talk," Jason said, pushing her down into a chair.
She laughed, "I told you, his name was Shikimoko, if you want more information, talk to my partner," she pointed to Skorva, who was standing behind Jason.
Jason looked back, and Skorva thrusted his fist forward, catching Jason in the cheek. Jason stepped back, threw off his jacket, and juked forward, hitting Skorva in the nose. Skorva held his nose,
his eyes watering, and made a blind punch, missing by an inch. Jason thrusted his knee forward, with boneshattering force. Skorva doubled over, spewing a mouthfull of blood onto the Coffee shop's floor.
Jason dropped his elbow, hammering Skorva's back, knocking him, facefirst, into a puddle of his own blood.
Sirens blared outside the shop, and police rushed in. Jason wrapped a strip of clothe from his shirt around his bleeding knuckle.
"Yes officer, he attacked me, I'm Jason Hunter, of the Imperial Gaurd" he flipped out his badge, "And this is my assistant, Jamie, Kaiser, and She's new to the group," he pointed to Amara.
A gustav slowly pulled out of the city, the Konig Wolf and Genosaurer on its trailor. Behind the trailors, tied to the gustav, was the slowly walking Matrix Saix.
"Why'd you save me?" She asked, her arms tied behind her back
"Because, you have information, somebody wants me dead, and I'm gonna find out just who that is." Jason said, wrapping his knuckles in bandages.
"I told you, I don't know anything," she batted her pretty grey eyes.
"I'm gonna let Jamie do the questions, I'll be working on the Wolf," he opened the canopy, and the Gustav came to a slow stop. He jumped onto the trailor,
and started working on the zoid. Amara was left with Kaiser and Jamie all alone.
"So, who are you working for?" Jamie asked, pulling the gun out of the holster at her side.
"I told you, I don't know anything"
Jamie cocked the gun.
"I'll ask one more time,"
"I don't know anything, damnit!"
She put the gun up to Amara's chin
"One more chance,"
"Your bluffing," Amara said, lifting her chin, sweating slightly.
"Wanta' bet?"
Amara could almost feal Jamie's finger contracting around the trigger. She squinted her eyes, and screamed.
"OK!" Jamie jerked the gun away, and Unarmed it.
"Talk," Jamie put the gun back at her side
"His name is Shikimoko, he's a tall man, black hair, down to his back. He has a weird red Zoid, with huge red boosters on its back. It looks like the Eisen Dragoon's Berserk Fuhrer, but its different.
Scares me just looking at it."
Jamie smiled. "And we contact him how?"
"Let me loose and I'll give you the phone number," she said, wiggling to get free.
"Can't you just tell me?"
"Well gee, I don't remember it, and I don't really like the idea of another chick reaching her hand down my shirt to get thepaper with the number on it
out of my bra,"
Jamie cut her loose, and Amara reached down her shirt, and handed Jamie the number.
Jason's phone beeped a little tune, as it vibrated at his side. He picked it up, and put it to his ear "Hello?"
"Jason, This is general Shubaltz,"
Jason smiled "Glad to see your up and about, general, sir,"
"Thank you, but we have a problem, How fast can you get to the Silver Colony,"
"Sir, I'd say about three hours, we just left Crystal City,"
"Well I need you there three hours ago, Prozen is on the move,"
"Sir, yes Sir, Will I be alone on this?"
"No, son, Eisen dragoon will be there in about five hours, but by then they will be halfway to our capital,"
"Want me to stall them?"
"Yes Jason, But I fear you won't be able to do this on your own. Please, Give it your best, we can't take such a great loss this far into the war."
"Sir yes sir,"
The phone turned off, and jason jumped off the slowly moving Gustav. He ran up to the canopy, and knocked on it, and jumped in as it opened
"New plan," he sighed "Silver Colony, and we gotta be there in two hours, three at the most, I'll explain on the way." He looked into the backseat,
and winked at Amara and Jamie.
