Geno Master: First Reckoning
-----------------------------
The War was over. Zenevas had not only reclaimed their entire homeland from guylos but had sucessfully taken the Northern half of the Helic Republic. Satisfied with the results and faced with a debilitating supply line problem though Zenevas sued for peace with the Republic and won. The two sides agreed to a full peace, powerful weapons such as Charged Particle Cannons were banned and construction of new Zoid models was halted. Remnants of Guylos, calling themselves the Katellan Empire, also signed this treaty from their new homeland.
This new era that has emerged as a result is not without its share of conflict though. As Zenevas continues to explore and exploit its new holdings with the hopes of ultimately crushing the other two enemies, they encounter opposition from unknown sources, a string of attacks against outposts in the frontier have left local military commanders dumbfounded. Now the Zenevas High Command is beginning to take notice, and as a result they have launched Operation "Reaffirm" in the Zenevas Frontier.

"Canopy's getting thick, switch to rotating spectral frequency mode and engage your terrain automaps immediately. Lincoln, you take point. Vicks and I will follow. Carel out."
Lt. Carel wiped the sweat from his brow and disengaged the radio. He and his squad were on the verge of what was considered "Wild Territory", owned by the Zenevas Empire but neither inhabited nor regulated, making it a perfect haven for their quarry. His squad of three Full Combat Gorilla Trons were the spearhead for a small army of jungle-equipped zoids assigned to search and destroy all hostile units in this territory.
Carel and a few other officers in the platoon knew though, that this wasn't just a routine mission against insurgents though and he suspected a few of the enlisted men knew it too. there were too many units amassed here for a simple anti-insurgency operation. what those enlisted men didn't, and couldn't know was the true purpose behind this assault.
Two weeks earlier a research station on the outskirts of the old Guylos capital was attacked. Such facilites are always the favored targets for rebels, however this one in particular not only upset the government because of the attack's success, but because of the nature of research being performed, Organoid research. The nature of the attacker was equally disturbing to Carel, evidence showed that the attacker had definitely used a charged particle cannon, banned by international law and even worse, scrambled footage from the battle showed what apeared to be a Geno Breaker. Geno Breakers were all but legend these days after the last Genosaurs were phased out of service altogether many years ago, replaced by Berserk Furys and their more reliable technology not based on Gunther Prozen's maniacal Death Saurer Revival Project. The Geno breker though had lived up to its fearsome reputation, merciless slaughtering the facility's defenders, a contingent of Rev Raptors and an Energy Liger. The wreckage of the Energy liger had been classified and taken away for further study, that zoid had single handedly turned the tide against the Republic in the last war and for it to be wrecked by a relic of the past was incredibly disturbing.
High Command though noticed though that parts of the Geno Breaker had been damaged in the fight as evidenced by pieces of material strewn about the battle site. A Geno Breaker , while formidable, would be no match for a full wave assault in its crippled state. Nearly one hundred zoids suited for the unique combat experience of the deep jungle were mobilized. the Gorilla Trons fit this role perfectly. Carel's men were piloting the "Full Combat" version as well, with a saw that easily tore away at vegetation and a large machine gun capable of doing considerable damage to even large zoids.
"Lt., this is Lincoln, i'm picking up something on my scopes, sensors indicate a 72% probability that it's a zoid. Itsnot brodcasting any IFF signal though."
Carel consulted his battle computer, his unit was still in the lead with a group of Diloforce and stealth Helcat units coming up from behind.
"Proceed carefully to target, we don't know what the Republic left for us out here when they retreated all those years ago. turn off your saw and creep trhough also, lets keep it quiet men."
Lincoln acknowledged and ended the transmission, creeping silently throuhg the underbrush in his zoid he carefully shifted the shrubs. covered in various moss was a small zoid, long since abandoned and gutted for parts ages ago.
"False Alarm sir, it's a damaged zoid all right but it appears to have been here for years."
Carel moved alongside of Lincoln and the two Gorilla trons stood side by side. Carel zoomed in with his scope and sighed.
"It's a Garius, an ancient relic at best. Send out the data to the rest of the force though so that no on else gets fooled. there could be a whole graveyard of whiteheads out here. We'll have to stop and map it."
The trip pressed forward, and the Lieutenant's guess was right on. Dozens of ancient zoinds, Elephantus, Garius, even a rotted out Giant Zrk, scattered the jungle succumbing to the effects of time. the group paused under the Giant Zrk, and began broadcasting the data to their comrades, who had already begun to ccompensate for the graveyard and spred out their search. Carel's ear stung as a nervous voice chimed in over the radio.
"Sir, this is Vicks, do you think its wise to be openly broadcasting our location like this? We're effectively giving our position away to the enemy."
"Vicks, we'l be all right, the enemy is damaged and as soon as we stop broadcasting we'll move again and he won't know where we're at. In the meantime we've been ordered a half kilometer south to make contact with the Brachios unit in the marsh, seems they haven't responded to any sort of calls, let head...."
Carel ear's were stung yet again as a scream emerged from Lincoln's Zoid.
"SIR! INCOMING HEAT SOURCE AT FOUR O'CLOCK! VICKS GET OUT OF THE WAY!"
Carel's zoid lunged to its left behind a cluster of trees while Lincoln hid behind the leg of the GIant Zrk. Vicks was incinerated by the blast made by the rockets, the head of the gorilla Tron, where the cockpit is located, was rendered to ashes and the rest of the zoid was smoldering, the explosion of ammunition in the Gorilla Tron's machine gun had aided in the blast, which Carel suspected was intentional on the part of their attacker.
"Lincoln, do you have a fix on his location?"
"No Sir, he might be using some sort of Holotech though to counter our scans. I'll try and radio for...NO!...*bzzzzt*"
Lincoln's signal was erased violently, Carel ran to his man's position but found only the lower half of the zoid, halved at the torso. Frantically looking all around Carel raised his gun and began fring wildly. He stepped back and was struck violenty as the other half of Lincoln's zoid crashed on top of him from above. As Carel regained his footing he looked over, a large blade of some sort had pierced the cockpit and zoid core of the halved Gorilla Tron. no way Lincoln could have survived. A proximity warning went off as the sensors picked up an incredible energy building up, before Carel could try to move he was immobilized by a series of burts from cannon's on the enemy's legs. Knowing death was imminent Carel resolved to find out the face of his killer. Frantically punching buttons on his console he locked on his scanners and an image appeared in his viewscreen. the Geno Breaker, fully restored of damage, looked different, instead of the ominous red hue it was now a deep shade of green with luminating gold trim. Carel leaned back in his pilot's seat. The Charged Particle Cannon was about to fire and his only wish was that there would be enough of him left to bury.
