Well, I used to do a lot of Z.I.M (Zoid Icon Manipulation) when I first found zoid icons on the internet and I've got about 1GB worth of unfinished manipulations. These two are my best ones. The Warped Fury was done some time in '07 while the white Saix was done in late '06. I know, the white BG behind them is annoying but I don't know how to make it transparent. Anyone know how?

Can't help you with the BG Issue.
I like the Saix.
Never realized how good it looked brightened up.

Shouldn't be too hard to remove the white background. It all depends on what you want to do with them. I know how to do it with GIMP (an open source photo editor). Just add an alpha channel to the image and start removing the background with the erase tool. You can also select a good part of the background with the Fuzzy select tool. Color to alpha might work, but if you have any other white on the part you want to keep that might be more tricky. Once you have the background removed you can save as GIF or PNG. Both formats will keep the alpha channel (transparent parts). JPEG doesn't save alpha. This tutorial might be helpful: www.gimp.org/tutorials/Changing_Background_Color_1/

I usually just put it on a new layer, nuke the background layer, and erase what I don't want...though I prefer PSP for my transparent gifs, because it's fun for pixel editing.
GIMP has a "select by color" thingy too, which'll work great so long as the background isn't the same color as bits you want to keep.
